Who\'s Unicron is this?

(Sorry. I\'ve been listening to Nas a lot lately and this was the first thing that came to mind.)

 

People on FB are thinking they will get Unicron for cheap in the aftermarket, some are praying for an OS KO or even a KO

 

the fact that it has 5 watchers has me intrigued

 

Hasbro is limited by what the retail market will bear, and there's no Western market for toys costing over $200 (with the exception of Lego, but that's its own unique case. And you can't find the $200+ sets at Wal-Mart, either).

TakaraTomy works in its own bubble, where the expensive collectible market does have a footprint. And even then, they're still selling the less expensive Generations stuff. Cheaper now than they used to, even, now that they're not bothering with their own custom paint masks and stuff.

Just because the ceiling is being raised doesn't mean that the floor's coming with it at the same pace. There will always be a market for the cheaper, more affordable wares - up until the toy market drops off in its entirety.

 

They want to see if anyone is dumb enough to buy it. @dxp is that one yours?

In my mind I picture a whole bunch of orange explosions to clip onto Unicron in robot mode, to look as though he is being attacked from all sides, and I hope for two optional green eye lasers and a green breath of fire effect (with mint-green highlights painted on to emulate the look of the effect in animation).

... and if Hasbro happen to throw in a colourless transparent slug figure of Starscream and count that as an effect part I wouldn't complain at all.

I...am starting to feel negative emotions about this...emotions like disappointment and sorrow.

I wonder what extras unicron may come with now that he has gotten past 10k

That's just the come down. From the adrenaline high of the final days/hours of backing. I've experienced the same thing many times with other crowdfunds. Coffee and some chocolate will fix you up lol. And exercise. Endorphins.

 

Probably the same guy from earlier. Hopefully he got it from bbts. Maybe you should hope that too for a fellow tf enthusiast

 

Ah, the good old days when everybody was doing custom Gundams for everything. Looks like the 1/100 Nataku was your base?

 

I gotta tell you, I don't hate it.

In fact, if that were a model kit in 1998, when I was really obsessed with Unicron (and the movie in general), I would almost certainly have bought one.

Not over Unicron. Sorrow over the scummy action...I dunno if dxp bought any to sell or if or kept his cancelled...if he didnt buy any to sell...that's not a good move. And hope that if people but from him he wont rip them off

I'm still worried that the ceiling is being raised regardless. It's polarising and only encouraging more to either purchase less, or purchase KO versions, alongside the regular TFs.

That's actually pretty awesome. I'd display that next to my Unicron any day.

 

I mean, I like money, and I assume you do to . Don’t see any point in knocking someone for wanting to profit off of something they ordered specifically to make profit of off.
