Apparently he still has a few left.
Could I trouble you to shoot me a PM, whenever is convenient, telling me how much Chimp Sausage was asking for a Quintesson ship and where in the world he sent it from?
Where it comes from, and the shipping cost associated, will determine whether I bother him to sell one to me.
Thanks for your help so far!
Hey, I am Chimp Sausage
They are $15 shipped in the continental U.S. or $10 plus actual trackable shipping anywhere else in the world.
Send me a PM if you'd like one!
I measured so I knew he'd fit, but once he arrived I was still nervous...
Lllllike a glove!
Bought at Michael's. Can only tell where I spray painted because of the drip spots
Great match. No mixing required. Good find. Please let us know how it went.
Posted this earlier. Taped LEDs with integrated battery holder and magnet switch to the inside of Unicron's head. Now when I pass a magnet near the eyes, they light up.
Heavy/Scratch: - Various mods (of mods), custom stuff
After having the figure in-hand, yeah, there was nothing preventing Hasbro from painting the maw or applying some sort of orange plastic cap over it. They painted orange over a bunch of other bluish gray parts.
That being said, I'm now part of the "It's ok in person camp" and don't see a great need to change it.
Labels would look terrible. Finding the right paint color is the challenge and the most successful ones will come from airbrushing custom mixed paints (flat creamy orange is not gonna be found anywhere on store shelves).
Vinyl wrap would be an alternative, but again, doubt there will be an exact color match. I did that to 'fix' Netflix NP's gray back.
Krylon nozzles can be janky. I rarely use their stuff except for their uv archival sprays to safely seal metallic finishes. If you still get drips despite very light coats and staying a foot away, refund and get a new can. I've had to get new cans before when the nozzle sputters.
The yellow gundam marker is not a match.
Definitely more yellow than the original orange, but I still much prefer it to the blue grey plastic.
Hmm adds that subtle contrast i want... I'll take it!
Ooh only 7 usd for a can
Same. I wouldn't want a giant void of the same orange. It needed breaking up, just with a similar but different shade, not bley.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071GYWQ3Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_FNB1NXDTTGY6E1DHCHPF isn't that expensive on amazon
I've got it locally, too. Our Michael's and Home Depot or Lowe's carry that color. I might take a look at it. Not sure about modding yet
Even if with this fix that an idiot like me could do. I'm sure someone will still whine
About the blue? Possible. It's a lot of money to have to change something yourself and detract from a resale price. But frankly, we now all are required to open our boxes anyway to check several things that have been reported. Can you imagine trying to buy a Trypticon MISB from TR now? The crap shoot that would be if they don't show the numbers...
That paint color mismatch doesn't look good, IMHO. Granted, it's possible to tint it closer to a match if you use clear orange spray paint over it.
Works for me. Adds a contrast but not too much
So my connection points for the rings to the shoulders seem flipped. Because the rings are the same with one just flipped upside down, the keyed plugs going to the shoulders should have opposite connectors. Mine do not. The keyed holes on the shoulders have the same internal shape. Anyone else have this or is there a part that rotates on the shoulder if I take the planet apart?
Edit - For anyone who runs across this, yes, the attachments to the shoulders rotate. It's just scary as hell but I wobbled it slightly just to see if it would move (because it looks like a solid piece on the shoulder). It will snap into place in the top down left right positions. It's not tight there though it just seems immovable when you don't want to move it for fear of breaking it...
Its really close but I think highway yellow might be closer idk
