Thank you! I think that might be the main purpose of Rodimus Prime’s blast effects — to blow up Unicron. Tricranius’ green blast effects are probably closer to the movie but would rather match to the blue Matrix blast effects we get with Hot Rod / Rodimus.

I just wish we had more of them! There must be close to hundred blast effect sites on this thing. And so satisfying to transform again months later, he really is something special

Absolutely! I think now that I have my materials and colors down for resin printing, designing and printing blast effects will be next on the list.

Need just a little more convincing on buying this big o’lad... can one of you who have him give me a quick mini review? Is he worth it? What’s the downsides and positives?

Here is my honest review. If you got in on the ground floor of this figure than I think he is well worth that price. I don't think he is worth $1500+ on the secondary market because of all the corners they cut in making the figure. I have both Studio Cell and Hasslabs.
Haslabs has the size going for it and I do actually love to ability to take the shell off to make the planet separate from the figure. That's just me though. Not everyone is going to take their figure apart and I think a majority of the haslab owners like the look with the planet chips attached. So in a nutshell he is a great display piece for any collector but he needs a few things to be perfect. The wings are too thick and don't look right on bot mode but I think they look great in planet mode. in planet mode they changed the color of the Maw in last minute product. This was a big issue for a lot of backers. There are fixes for that now (printed cover and ToyHax stickers) which makes it much better. Lastly, for the price it should have at least had some lights in the eyes and chest. As large as the ring is in planet mode it should have had lights there too. Its the over all size of this figure that makes him worth the hype. !f you don't care about the size then I would get Studio Cell. its $500, still available, fully transforms and has all the things you would expect to have just in a smaller package.

Finally transformed him back to planet mode but the maw isn’t opening
I can spin the orange piece a tiny bit and that’s it
    Anyone else have this problem?

Well I'm excited to say that my separation kit is ready for preorders again. If you missed the thread I have been working on resin printing the back plate I designed along with the updated internal kit that I worked on with @geekgirl. If you have a printer you can download the internal kit from Thingiverse. The back plate however has to be printed by me. It's taken me 3 months to match the color of the spikes pretty close.

So all that to say that the preorders are now live on my Etsy shop. Link Here
