Seems a bit thick. It's supposed to look like skeletal wings.
For sure, Version 2 is a improvement but it is super hard to get it just right as a exact duplicate of the original. Still working on it
Internal kit is done and fitting well. Made quite a few adjustments including Hight and easy assemble for the brackets and Ring Posts. I’ll throw the internal parts up on Thingiverse and Cults as a remix of @geekgirls Original kit.
The spikes need a little more works and now I’m testing paint. If you want the back plate and spikes I’ll be selling them on my Etsy shop.
Do you guys want the wings to look like the exact copy of the Haslabs or would you rather see something closer to the cartoon look?
Better to show both. Don't forget the clips for the side panels/spikes.
I would prefer a thinner set of wings for bot mode.
I agree, I had originally wanted wings to look more like from the cartoon but tried my hand at making them look more like the actual toy. I know some would like them to look the same as the toy but personally I think looking thinner and more like the cartoon is better
when you guys say thinner are you meaning the bulk of the “wings” or the thickness of the ring?
I personally like the thickness of the rings minus all the extra spikes they added and I love the detail inside the rings. I just don’t like how flat it is. The way they did the wings on studio cell is how it looks in the cartoon.
So maybe a mix of the two?
I think maybe slightly less thick because we compared and it is just a tad bit thicker than the original. but mix of the two sounds good in our opinion. what do the rest of you guys think?
We mean overall thinner on the wings. Like, the official ones are ropes; we want string. Maybe not that extreme. Half-ropes.
Hasbro gave us the thickness of a Crayola marker. Maybe something more like thickness of a pen.
Yep. I get that. I think it looks good for the planet but terrible for robot.
Ok guys. The new design is pretty much done. I have a couple small tweaks I need to make for stability and to tab the front spikes into the ring posts. Other than that I’m done with the internal kit.
I’m taking preorders for anyone that can’t print the kit on their own. I’ll be posting the internal kit on Thingiverse here in a bit and will post a link when I go.
The only thing that will not be included in the free STL download will be the backplate with the spikes I designed. I have separate pricing for that.
All the new parts have been designed to be printed with no supports. The full kit takes about 11 hours at .2 mm layer hight and 120ms speeds. 20% infill.
If you want the kit printed just message me or hit me up on my Facebook page.
$130 shipped for the full kit.
Half The Battle Toys
I can print most of it, but how much for just the backplate and spikes?
That part is going to be $70. It’s all printed in high resolution on my large format resin printer.
I’ll be taking a few preorders now while I print them but these will all be molded and casted if I get enough interest.
Would it cost less for casted version?
probably not because i have to set up the mold and the casting resin is actually more expensive than the print resin.
I’ll look into it if there is enough interest though so it’s not off the table. Also I have to do a lot of math to figure out time and costs. I suck at math.
btw. Testing paints today.
Okay cool. I'm down for that. What payment methods do you take? Because I got a permabanned from PayPal with no explanation a few years back but I got credit cards, venmo, Google, and Amazon pay. Also got an eBay, Etsy, and Mercari account if you're going to be selling them there.
I will take a set and will wait to see if there is enough interest for resin. Either way I want a set.
I’ll set it up on my Etsy shop once I get better pictures with the color match on the backplate abs spikes so end of the week. For now you can follow my page.

awesome! I’m so
Glad you guys are liking this design. I’m going to post up the preorder on my Etsy shop with a very limited run for now and after this final test I’ll post the internal kit on Thingiverse. Most likely by the weekend.
Will the wings be available as well?
