Ok so this is a Rumour so far (but this is, of course the News and Rumours thread) but Kapow Toys, a very well respected UK retailer, stated on their Facebook social media page a few hours ago that the HasLab Galactus & Razorcrest may have (likely over)stock available to buy, at a cheaper price than initially offered to customers to preorder in the first place.

If this is true, the question is then ‘are there any others, such as Unicron or Victory Saber floating around out there’ and what it would mean for the future of HasLabs in general if you could just wait a while and possibly get Deszaras on clearance later down the line, maybe even cheaper than initially solicited?

Feel free to move / delete this if necessary but it may be worth talking about.

The only thing I hope for Haslab in the future is they will consider giving cancelled projects a second chance. Maybe even fix their mistakes.

Would these be extras Hasbro ran off to cover QC issues? 502 units, 102 units, these quantities are so small I wouldn't want to take the chance of being able to get one. Better to just back the Haslab during the campaign period, pay full price, rest easy.

I just want to get my cancelled Victory Saber. As for all of this as I posted in VS - Zavvi thread, Galactus showed up in online versions of two polish shops. I have no idea how many copies were there, very few/two since they vanished in hour or something like that and slightly cheaper price than Zavvi offered. So it might be connected with Kapow message,

I won't bet on anything. 500-600 units will last an hour at best. Those are about the same numbers that Velocitron Cosmos had when he released and he sold out in a minute or two tops.

Getting one at these prices is going to be pure luck if this happens.

And of course there’s no guarantee that retailers will actually offer them for sale at this wholesale price. Why would they? Take the profit and sell them for original price or higher. I’m sure that’s what BBTS would do.

I doubt these are extra runs and are just leftovers (after exchanges, etc). After all, Hasbro isn't going to put any leftovers up on Pulse, so they have to sell them to someone - might as well let one of the wholesale retailers take them all off your hands at once.

Probably just leftover stock, but it'd be awesome if they did eventually find a way to do so just to watch the people who actually care about 'muh value' and exclusivity lose their absolute shit.

A few hundred extra units won't make much difference to the value, especially once KaPow or whatever website buys them up and then resells them for double or even triple the original price.

This would be absolute poison for further Haslab sales.

Hasbro is also well aware that listings such as these leak like a sieve considering the huge amount of that already leaks.

So I’m not really seeing an upside here. $50k is a rounding error on a Haslab so why on Earth would you endanger millions of dollars on further ones for a measly 50k?

Now, someone stealing/reverse engineering the molds and firing up a new run? That sounds much more possible.

The Haslab backer / made-to-order concept confuses me.

As @MrBlud mentions, why p!$$ off backers & risk future Haslab offerings.

this isn't a rumor, some buyers bought more than they can move and selling at wholesale. Hasbro itself is not making extra copies. whats out is out. thats not to say hasbro didnt keep a couple thousand for replacement stuff

    I doubt that.

More plausible if the stock were:
    - Excess stock
    - Lunchtime specials from same factory
    - Refurbished or sub-standard

EDIT: Makes me wonder about the recent RobotKingdom VS stock that were sold. Hmmmm...

Almost no chance they're offered to the consumer at below Haslab price. And even if so, the allotment is so small, the odds of you getting one at that reduced cost to lord over backers is near zero. This is not a 'wait for the latest Titan to show up at Ross' situation.

If they weren’t exclusive, these would be easier to pick up and play with without being afraid of breaking them
