I'm 29 and remember RID fondly. I think I had almost every retail figure except Galvatron and Cryotek.

Solid analysis! I was 9 in 2011 and these were the definitive toys in my life for many many years. Now I'm 31 and have a job so this is absolutely perfect for my situation. And apparently a lot of other people feel similar xD

I got Galvatron but not Megatron.

    I didn't get Cryotech... i thought "wow that's a stupid repaint".

    BOY DO I REGRET THAT.

I CAN FEEL IT COMING IN THE AIR TONIGHT

    OH LAWD

Seriously though, excellent work to the design team, and kudos to the fans. Unless I’m mistaken, Transformers is the most successful HasLab project brand. 4/4!

I’m so happy that these two characters got the Legacy treatment. RID Optimus especially would’ve been neutered as hell at retail. HasLab gave him the love he needed. Remember, Deathsaurus was planned to be in the Legacy mainline, but would have been an extensive retool of SS86 Grimlock. Just imagine how whack that would have looked next to Victory Saber: a bastardized Grimlock masquerading as Deathsaurus

please hasbro, magnus\' misiles, a couple of blast effects, koji and t-ai minifigs, t-ai\'s projector as well?, thats it, maybe, as some people suggested, an skybyte or more specifically, at least an skybyte head and claw for the super optimus mode, because i doubt they would give an entire bicep and thigh addon just for that small joke

TBH I have very little sense of the lower bound for early 2000s Transformers ages. I don't know if Transformers fans under 9 or 10 were really watching then. But yeah in general, my point is, original RID fans who saw it at the time and have an emotional attachment to "the return of vehicle transformers" are all post-college age right now and making income. Same thing with original Armada fans, of which there will be a lot of overlap.

I also think, and should have put in my original post, the very limited attention RID 2001 got over the last 20 years I'm sure CERTAINLY boosted interest. I wouldn't say it was a forgotten series, but it is actually a very long time ago and Hasbro alway seemed interested in talking about the more prominent and expansive Beast Wars and Unicron Trilogy. RID only lasted one season and about a year on shelves.

If anyone doubts the influence or long, loooooooong reach of RID2001, please see Transformers Robots In Disguise - Car Robots - RIDForever.info, operated by our own TFW2005 mods.

Proton Pack funded inside a week; the HISS funded in nine hours and reached all tiers in less than two weeks.

Japan FTW! Was there any doubt an OP would be funded? Does Japan still consider him as a separate character from Optimus Prime?

    Yeah.

In Japan Fire Convoy and God Magnus both are completely seperate from their G1 selves as they are actually apart of G1 in Japan.
