I missed that part of the video. Did they mention if the chain would be metal? The HasLab Ghost Rider has a metal chain so not sure if that's something they're doing now.

I haven't actually had a chance to watch the video either to see what they say about it.

 

MP Star Saber was Takara's 30th Anniversary celebration piece and a kind of back-door CHUG figure. It's in scale with CHUG... an inscale MP Star Saber would be the size of SIege Omega Supreme (at least). Hasbro couldn't stop showing him off with Super Ginrai / God Ginrai in particular. There was precedent for this too. Unite Warriors Devastator / CW Devastator was intentionally engineered to be MP scale ont he part of Takara. It was a double dip according to the designer in an interview a couple years back- a Titan class for the US Market, but a MP-adjacent figure (enhanced in Unite Warriors) for Japan.



It's also been rumored for years that Star Saber's Takara designer moonlighted for 3P, and KFC Simba is the same designer's creation. While not an official MP, it was designed hand in hand with MP-24. No way of knowing for sure though. I think it very likely, especially given Takara designers supposedly moonlighting for FansToys a few years back too.

Yes, but there's also no middle man to back up the project by buffering Hasbro from distribution costs or who can allow for a cheaper selling price by subsidizing less profit with the sales of other products, either. There are both pros and cons to the HasLab model, but the price tag of these projects definitely reflect that downside.

They also probably reflect the fact that at the current rate of increase Commanders probably will be like $100 or more at retail by the time Deathsaurus is released, too.
