I am! As a native Rhode Islander one of us has to show up and turn off the lights once everyone leaves. Last time someone left them on we didn't have power to the mall for 3-4 days dammit!

Seriously tho how can I not go! It takes ten minutes to drive across the state I might as well check it out.

I've never been to a TF convention. But I'm gonna try out Hascon!

Any word on presales of tickets?

I'm interested, but it is doubtful that I could make the trip, it's about as far as a convention could get for me.

Initially I wanted to go, but then I started thinking, where am I likely to have the most fun? At HasCon, where at best maybe 20% of the show will be marketed to me, or at TFCon, where 100% of the show will be marketed to me? The fact they're happening in the same month guarantees I can only attend one.

I'm interested, but I need to review some finances first. I'm definitely going to TF-Con which is in the same month. Plus, Hasbrocon is an unknown entity and in a RI which is very out of the way.
Nevertheless, I'm curious to check it out and see if it's any good. I'm hoping Hasbro can tell us more about the events that will be going on before I make my final decision.

I read through the press release again today and it appears to me that the has con will be heavily marketed towards families, which is great. However I wonder if that will leave collectors out of the game? It's hard to imagine that Has con would have the hoe of exclusive toys that we have seen at Botcon, such as a box set, souvenir sets, attendee figures, etc. At this point we are not even sure if there will be a dealer room. Hmm, those two are crucial for me: (1) con exclusives, and (2) a good dealer room.

I will keep monitoring this and keep my fingers crossed. I do think it is possible to have a convention that is both friendly to both families and collectors. I take my kids every year to SDCC and we have a lot of fun. I also go by mus for for a few days so that I can do the stuff my kids are t interested in, like toy panels, comic panels, hunt for exclusives, etc.

It's not really going to be a convention. More like an expo. Disney runs a similar type thing.

So I'm tempted to go whole hog on a VIP pass. I was curious to see who else is gong and how many days for. I like the addition of a Headquarters tour, but I feel like only including one package is a bit of a rip off. I feel like if I'm dropping 600+ dollars I should get everything like the Transformers HoF dinner, GI Joe dinner, Stories w/ Stan, ect... Anywho like I said just curious as to what everyone's thoughts are.

Was able to secure a VIP pass with a coupon code last week. I am actually pretty pumped for this show.

I might go if I knew about the cost, how much does Frank Welker charge for photo op and autograph?
