I suppose techincally it could be, the upper portion opf each limb look near identical but I suppose they could have cast new cosmetically different but functionally the same pieces.

Yeah this is a case of verbiage and lingo being blurred....so it can argued in either direction.

I think the real focus should be on the awesomeness of it EVEN HAPPENING!

Shared engineering doesn't equal a shared mold, look at deadend and chromedome or g2 smokescreen and energon starscream

    Sweet!

My prediction will be Elita's reveal and a few more Deluxe Fembot and Terrorcons along with some Legend and Prime Master reveals.

I would expect the last 3 figures of wave 1. Legends Wincharger, and re-issued T30 Skrapnel. Prime Master Vector Prime with Metalhawk. Then Elita-1, and Rodimus Unicronus.

Oh snap! I forgot that Optimal Optimus didn't have a hoverboard mode and that was Transmetal Optimus! Good Lord that makes this even better! Although Transmetal Optimus still looks too much like Optimal Optimus's gorilla. Still, it's amazing. If this doesn't have a season 1 beast mode then my MP Primal can stay in beast mode and I can keep this one in robot mode. Even better, this deluxe Optimus Primal will scale nicely next to the Leader combined Optimus Prime.

That's all I want. NOT an undersized deluxe that looks ridiculous next to the other Classics figures, and not a ridiculously oversized leader that looks ridiculous next to the other Classics figures (looking at you, Soundwave!)

I have a feeling we won't see those until BotCon next year. Ohhh, yeah....

Oh man... If we get a new Optimus with a Super Mode I will flip out because I've been begging for one for years.

Magnus would likely also be a Prime retool. Dead on with Star Saber.

Thunderwing would likely have been his larger G1 Pretender vehicle mode with the drone forming the "inner" robot.

Megatron could have been a big honking tank with a turret that turned into the smaller bot.

That's my guess as well. Probably a retooling of Prime or Hot Rod with the flat nose military truck pulling the honking combat trailer.

Shockwave would be the same as Megatron. Arcee would be a Rodimus retool, and Deathsaurus would be his G1 form with the Breastmaster being the inner robot.

That gives every mold at least two uses, except Deathsaurus who'd likely become a TM2 Megatron at some point.

Remember, the figure is the *Prime* form of the character. With the alt and bot mode corresponding to that.

The inner robot is a portion of the larger alt mode that splits off to form the pre-Prime version of the character. But it's not intended to be a straight translation of what the pre-Prime character turned into.

The only reason it seems odd is because the first one we saw was Rodimus. And even then it's not 100% accurate to G1 because neither he, nor Prime, actually combined with their trailers as Primes.

Sure...that looks like a completely 100% new figure with no similarities at all to silverbolt. Clearly one is grey and the other is white. So much different.

John Warden says a lot of things.

apparently you don't read everything before you post, or you think you have more information than the people designing the toys. two toys SHARING ENGINEERING does NOT mean that one is a retool. again read my quoted text in this very response, take a look at cw deadend and tr chromedome. they share engineering not a mold. look at g2 smokescreen/rid smokejumper/bw2 starscream and energon starscream. again shared engineering not a shared mold.

Okay - I mean, you're seeing those beast-mode legs, right? I'm just asking, because it looks to me like they really borked up Hun-Grrr.

I never got to see Raiden as a kid, only knew of him in passing. Absolutely loved team Shinkansen from the CarRobot/RID series (the figures anyway, didn't stick around for the show). An updated Raiden or any other track-vehicle would be interesting, more so if a combiner.

I wanna go back to micro-combiners, those little fuys were so much win, just give 'em decent articulation.

Hun-grrr is the biggest disappointment for me.

When the G1 version does it better, something is terribly wrong. That was my biggest issue with the Titans Returns figures as well, the G1 first gen Headmasters mini head guys were much better than the Titanmaster head minis.

    IMO of course. ;)
