Sure, quite often Hasbro doesn't release something that would make sense. Overlooking a favorite character, an obvious redeco, etc. But normally they can eventually go back in a later line and release said redeco.

That's not what this topic is about. It's about figures whose boats have sailed. Maybe their gimmick isn't being used anymore, maybe it won't fit in with the current size classes. Maybe later releases make it unlikely because of other releases.

Obviously this is subject to personal opinion and guesswork. Who knows, maybe Hasbro WILL go back and resume old play patterns/size classes. Nothing is ever guaranteed, I know.

Universe 2.0/RtS: Redeco of Cybertron Scrapmetal as Rumble and Frenzy. With the new RtS Rumble mold out, this seems unlikely, which is a shame.

GDO Scouts: ... releasing Rumble and Frenzy. Hasbro skipped the mold the first time and moved away from Scouts. Then they bring the size class back for one last time and... don't include these desired molds.

GDO Voyager: Remold of Mindwipe (or even redeco) as Soundwave. The reason I count this as a missed opportunity is because there was GDO Laserbeak which has interactivity with the Mindwipe mold. Even if they do this redeco later, it won't be as timely.

DotM Cyberverse: Space Shuttle playset (the $10 like Prime or Megatron with a trailer). Given the focus the space shuttle had in the movie, I'm surprised Hasbro didn't make a Legion space shuttle and have a set that turned from crawler to launchpad. As a bonus, if it clips to the pad via 3mm clips, it could mount on DotM Air Raid's back, giving that crappy figure a reason to exist.

Prime Cyberverse: White redeco of Optimus as Ultra Magnus, include as a pack-in with the Optimus Maximus set.

    Post your own!

Power Core Combiners. Why would you dump an entire line, because it doesn't sell, because the play pattern (drones for limbs) sucks, instead of altering its path slightly a la TFC's Iron Army or the Mobine stuff Maketoys is doing. Both of which seem to be boosting the prices on the PCC commanders on the secondary market as we speak. Obviously, with a tweak to the concept, these could have had a lot more life.

Cybertron Hardtop and Metroplex in Beachcomber and G1 Metroplex decos, respectively, for the Universe'08 line. Both size classes were all-out dropped for the line.

think TTS 2011 dreadwind is already very close to a soundwave paint job. would have been cool to have a soundblaster out of mindwipe though, that kinda would gel a bit more with GDO lazerbeak's colors with some red, silver and black mixed in.

I'd pretty much pick up any cybertron/galaxy force repaints if they were produced. Same with anything alternators related. White dodge ram as magnus, honda civic frenzy, yellow jaguar xk steeljaw...

man it just depresses me how many repaints/retools the alternator line still had in it :(

Good call on the Alternators. And yeah, TTS Dreadwind is pretty similar but not really any more similar than Laserbeak is to Skystalker, in my opinion. Plus, it's a Japanese convention exclusive... not the most common figure in the fandom, you know?

Well, with GDO Hot Spot and Universe Blades, we have 2 out of 5 Protectobots. Hasbro could easily have repainted Universe 2.0 Prowl and Ratchet, given them new heads, and called them First Aid and Streetwise. Now, who they could use for Groove is anyone's guess. Still, I'd love to see a complete team of Protectobots released by Hasbro.

Universe 2.0 Prowl has already been retooled in to Streetwise once as Botcon '11 Streetstar so I doubt Hasbro will do that one any time soon. Of course, given that the '07 Seekers eventually made it to retail in Generations, Streetwise may eventually make it to retail as a retooled Prowl. Just, not in the near future.

Anyway, I'd like to see Animated Blitzwing and Arcee retooled into their G1 counterparts. Partially because I think that would make good placeholders until proper molds for them can be made. And partially because I sadistically want to see the fandom rant and rage over them. :D

I know Streetwise/star was part of the Botcon 2010 set, but it just doesn't feel like a proper iteration of the character. First of all, it has the G2 paint job (which doesn't mesh well with the G1 Protectobot color scheme). Secondly, the Prowl's head looks nothing like Streetwise's. Honestly, it was just a lazy ass paint job that was only remotely appealing because it was an homage to an unreleased G2 figure.

Personally, I'm thinking about buying another Universe Prowl and doing a head swap to make him Streetwise. I'll probably also get the Healing Hands upgrade for PRID Ratchet to turn him into First Aid. Bug again, I can't think of a single bot to substitute for Groove.

    Clear Plastic Transformers Energon Deluxes.

And they repainted endlessly Autobot Omnibots but not Decepticon Terrorcons.

    I want more Energon Terrorcons.

A lot of what peopel are suggesting are not "missed opportunities" but rather figures that have not been financially viable. Like Animated Blackout, who couldn't be released because Animated was over and retailers no longer wanted it. A lot of these unreleased figures have that to blame. Being part of a cancelled or bygone line and are unable to be solicited to retailers.
