All I need to worry about now is the color scheme.

It REALLY looks to me like a G1 Wheeljack head.

But chances are it'll be a movieverse Slicer.

And I am ok with that.

That new head is totally G1 Wheeljack. Now I'm not sure if I want to get the Que version or wait for the retool....

I love how this toy looks.
The retooled head looks cool too. Probably will get that as well.

Uh...no, it really doesn't. If anything, aside from the obvious G1 Wheeljack, it kinda reminds me of movie!Wheeljack's earlier IDW head, just with straighter ears.

Either way, I'm totally getting both versions; I was sold on this mould to begin with, and the new head makes it even cooler. Plus it'll be nice to double up on all those accessories.

I would need to see high resolution pictures to pass judgement on the new headsculpt.

The G1 colours could work in a Le Mans 24h context.

to me the head really doesn't match his body i hope that this is a retool and not the original toy, i like que but if this happens then i'll be stuck with generations wheeljack and a look-a-like wheeljack instead of an einstein bot, but don't mind my pickyness.

Not only your theory, but mine too, and probably the most likely explanation to the different head. We have already seen the oficial promotional picture with the movieverse head and the sheet has the same picture at the top. Also this isn't something new, just a few months ago we discovered the same thing with lazerbeak's instruction sheet.

    Man, that toy looks... hideous.

Wish they'd hurry up and do some more Leader figures instead.

edit: There's an alt head for lazerbeak too? Not seen that, intrigued...

He has a spear, two minigun things and a giant Mechtech weapons, which is fitting since he's one of the few characters I can actually imagine carrying around a giant transformable prototype gun.

Isn't that the head from the prequel comic?

Nah, don't worry, this is a future retool (assuming it comes out), since the instructions that show the new head come with the first release of the toy. We will definitely be getting good ol' Einstein-head Wheeljack before this one.

I was saying the same thing; aside from the ears being a little bigger, it seems like a dead-ringer for the head he had in Foundation and Rising Storm. Presumably, this is some kind of "prior to getting mauled by Shockwave" version. Or, if not, just some old-fashioned G1 homaging. I'm still going with the first explanation when I get it.

He seems to have the face mask eyes and ears taken from various Wheeljack/Downshift G1/Energon/Cybertron/Prime designs.

I wonder what he's look like in white/silvery white with the colour applies to his inner body parts and not to the car (to leave a clean looking car mode)... though I suppose a Touring car or police car deco is quite possible too.

Something a bit like this dodge perhaps :

    http://www.drivearabia.com/news/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/dodge-charger-dubai-police-1.jpg

But he has the chance to be a very apt toy with the new head and the Melee weapons he'd essentially be a Transformers Prime style Wheeljack in the Movieverse... perhaps they might even call him Downshift ?

Also all his 3 (non mechtech) weapons have C-clips so would be cross compatible with older toys and especially with Generations Wheeljack. Which is nice

I notice the instructions fail to show you where to store the small accessories and the spear in the vehicle mode... (Amusing to see they are maintaining the trend of the transformers Instructions just being a vague suggestion rather than an accurate guide) - Skyhammer i'm thinking of your in particular here..

If he stands OK and has no production flaws or structural weakness he could be a very good toy especially with the new head on him.

Interesting transformation, and I was unaware he came(or at least is molded with) extra weaponry. Not liking the MechTech too much, but I'm hoping we get a G1 based repaint with that new head.
