So we all know how shitty all of the weapons are on the TF Prime figures. I was wondering if Hasbro would ever think of releasing a weapons pack for the Prime line.

It would be great to get all of the Cybertronian artifact weapons. Proper cannons for Megatron and proper weapons for Optimus. So on and so forth for the characters.

Now would that make sense? Would Hasbro ever do anything like that?

Of course it makes sense. Which is why Hasbro won't do it.

doubtful at best as they have never done a Transformers weapon pack in the 25 + years history of Transformers so i cannot see why they would start now.

    This.

If they didn't do it during DotM, they won't do it now.

They had the perfect opportunity, two lines that both had a heavy focus on standardized ports, as well as a sub-line involving Targetmasters.

Sadly, they seem to be moving away from the c-clip weapons. I personally think a weapon pack with 1 Mechtech weapon, 1 Cyberverse, 1 c-clip, and one Targetmaster would've been absolutely stellar.

But alas, was not to be.

They probably would do a weapons pack, but it would be repaints of the shitty Prime Vovager Mechtechs or something! I love the thought and would buy these in a heartbeat, but I ain't holding my breath.

Not counting Arms Micron, it makes more sense for Takara to do it.

I would have loved to have seen a C-clip weapons pack. So many figures have the ports and are basically useless.

    ^This pretty much.

Hasbro probably considers making molds for just some guns, swords, and what not as a waste of time and resources. They also know the 3rd Party guys exist too.

Hasbro also seems to have an aversion to releasing TF figs with too many loose bits that kids could lose. So a pack of nothing but said loose bits is probably considered a bad idea.

Only a few hardcore fans would buy them. More parts for kids to lose. Not worth the trouble.

Hasbro's tried doing weapon packs for GIJoe years ago. Apparently they failed hard. Outside of the collector's market, there doesn't seem to be a particularly large demand for bonus accessories.

I'd just be happy if they did blind bag Arms Micron figures.

The one and ONLY way i could see Hasbro doing any sort of weapons PACK would be if the included them (as incentives) with the figures themselves kinda like how GI Joe's used to have lots of Extra Accessories.

Apparently they couldn't make weapon packs for Joes sell 25 yrs ago, so packs for tfs now,I can see them being dead against it.

I think you'd find 3rd Parties would be the most eligible to do them... Hasbro won't make them as their primary focus is kids first and foremost. I know as a child I lost most of the accessories my toys had... and pretty sure other toy lines that explore weapon kits have shown that, unless there's a figure that can wield them all, they don't sell that well.

They've more than enough reason to pass on making weapon kits... at best, they'd have to convince specialty stores that it's a profitable endeavor for both store and Hasbro.

The Japanese market's a bit different though... which is why Arms Micron seems to work there. Model kits are profitable, and apparently selling kits to kids is something that isn't unheard of...

They tried it with Star Wars toys during EP1. Collectors ate that shit up like crazy but they didn't seem to go over well with kids because there was no toy there.. just a bunch of accessories.

Takara has the formula down. Toy plus cool accessory equals lots of fun for kids.

The last time I can remember Hasbro doing any kind of weapons paks for any of its lines was during SW: Episode 1. They had weapos paks that languished on shelves and were clearanced out everywhere, and Hasbro said "Never again."

I think I was the only person who liked those... even GI Joe doesn't have weapon packs anymore.

But yeah, as cool and good an idea I think it would be, and as much as I've suggested in the past in conversation, the closest you'll probably see is weapon-form minicons for the foreseeable future. Now that we're in an age of essentially universal weapon accessories, that's a step up though.

And, of course, there's always the 3rd parties...
