With the shelved Transformers/DC crossover and all the recent IDW/DC collaborations, what do you think about the idea of a crossover between the newly created Hasbro-verse and the DC universe? It's definitely an interesting idea, a universe full of Superheroes encounters a universe with just normal human heroes(and aliens) and no Superheroes. The only problem I see with this, is the derailment of current stories on both sides in order to do said crossover. What do you think? Could it happen?
No thanks. We don't need yet another crossover with no real lasting impact derailing the current books. If there is an elseworlds-style one-shot, then maybe it'd be OK. (Like the surprisingly fun and silly Mars Attacks crossover.)
How are there "no real lasting impacts"? Skywarp and Kup are gonna be in the G.I. Joe and Revolutionaries comics and MtMtE ended before the event started and TaaO was delayed becusce of SotW, so there was no "derailing the current books" either.
I'm referring to the Marvel Avengers one done back in the early IDW days. Not to mention that a DC comics one would have to involve an interdimensional crossover or something that results in another "let's have everyone fight for 3-4 issues before resolving their differences and fighting the true bad guy" (who will likely be like Lex Luthor teamed up with Unicron or Galvatron or something equally terrible.) It isn't like any of the characters involved in a cross publisher crossover will stick around. It will be at best like TF/GI Joe in the original Marvel miniseries where Bumblebee got rebuilt but not much else of lasting impact happened.
Wasn't that the only cross publisher crossover with Transformers? That cancelled Justice League/Transformers crossover would have solved all those issues.
I'm sure this crossover would have no lasting impact on either DC or TF continuities. Probably a self-contained one-shot.
