Auto-inductees are boring and predictable, like all public relations. The fan choice is the only exciting part of the HOF dinner.

Eh, not a huge Grimlock fan, but I guess he's a pretty important character in the franchise. Would've rather had The Shock or The Wasp, but whatevs.

 

I vaguely remember at the last HoF dinner that Hasbro was thrilled that we took the hall of fame seriously and voted on characters that deserve recognition. Maybe Erector has amazing character development in the comics (I don't know), but for me and some others, beyond a micromaster toy the character is pretty much an unknown, inducting a character that me and I believe many others didn't even remember existing until the voting thing shows that the character really isn't hall of fame material. Perhaps in the future if Hasbro brings him into other fiction and brings out homages to the character, but right now this comes off as an April Fools joke that has gone on too long and will show Hasbro we don't take this seriously.

For those who wanted Erector for real and don't treat this as a joke, these are my opinions and certainly don't intend to demean your opinion, but I don't believe that everyone who voted for Erector truly thinks the character is deserving and more wants to see Hasbro say Erector at the podium at the Saturday night HoF party.

 

One day Erector will rise to his rightful glory.

 

Let's face facts: Grimlock is a sure-fire autonominee for 2012 or 2013. I'd like to see Waspinator, Rodimus, Skybyte, Rattrap, or even Tarantulas win it first.

Before someone thinks I've gone back on wanting Grimmy on winning, here is my reply. He got a Masterpiece figure. Anyone getting Masterpiece treatment will surely be autonominated. So I guess this may rule out Rodimus too.  

No matter what - Me Grimlock King. And more than likely Gregg will be there anyway!  

 

erector? really? can anyone even tell us anything other than his name?   i think grimlock and shockwave both deserve to be in the hall of fame, but i'd rather not vote for either of them because it's pretty much a given that they'll get put in there without a vote pretty soon. arcee as well - she hasn't been that great a character since before prime, really. but she was kind of the original fembot, so she deserves some credit. but again, they'll put her in there, most likely. so rattrap gets my vote... as most have already said, he gave us TF slang - and he was just awesome. sorry, waspy, he deserves a shot. you will always have one, because univerzze lovezz you  

i'd also love if sky-byte, cybertron scourge, or vector prime won. sky-byte was just so loveable. scourge was the zuko of cybertron  . and next to dinobot, vector prime was one of the greatest heroes in TF history.   long live the keeper of space and time!!!  

 

Let's see, Erector beat Arcee, Jazz, Rattrap, Rodimus, Waspinator and Shockwave and was at one point beating Grimlock. That's the power of Erector right there, a little guy who dared to dream big.

I'm just going to call him Cra-Gun from now on. It's a much better name.

The answer is that while many voted Erector because of the name, quite a few (myself included), voted for Erector because of the attachment we have for that toy/character, regardless of what his name is.

People just refuse to accept that for some reason.

He could be named Bob, Pete, or Holy Mackerel for all I care.
