Other hobbies are also going up in price too.

I've been doing woodworking for fun and it hasn't been very cheap at all. Originally, I was looking at some of the prices being charged on Etsy for various things and didn't want to pay the ridiculous prices being charged. When I built some of those things myself, I realized that the markup wasn't as high as I originally thought.

My next project is some fancy wood risers for my Detolfs. The material costs alone are going to be more than the Detolfs themselves. Wood prices have gone insane. I wish it was even close to the markup that Hasbro is charging for their toys.

Agreed. Unfortunately, a lot of those things are going up much higher than some kid's toys.

It depends on your hobby. Honestly I'm just using this as an excuse to get out of Transformers.

I understand completely. After Kingdom, I seeing myself winding down also. Between The Prime Wars Trilogy and the Siege Trilogy, I've been able to purchase almost all of the Transformers I've been wanting since I was a kid. Once I finish the Studio Series Dinobots, I'm probably done.

The only thing I could see that would get me back in would be updates to the Combiners and they would have to be a significant upgrade.

$52.99 is the new MSRP for leaders
    $31.49 for Voyagers

And Deluxes are remaining at $22.99 for now, here in the U.S.

The oportunity for HasTak is now bring more characters into figure like:
    -G1: Turbomaster, Powermaster, Prentenders
-Beast Wars: Literally every character that hasn't got a figure in the last years.
    -The entire Unicron Trilogy cast.
    -Robots in Disguise (Car Robots)

Shattered Glass is nearly $10.00 more per figure. Megatron and Starscream are $39, Blurr is $30.

    Ouch.

Comic books are standard $3.99 now. $4.99-$8.99 if extra sized though this one isn't. I haven't paid attention to or seen many foil variant covers lately. Cardstock variants alone add $1, a common DC variant. I imagine those '90s style foil variants are adding $2-$4 to the retail price of the comic book.

That's likely due to the cost of the pack-in comic. Same thing happened with the 2nd Ectotron.

The comic plus new tooling for parts that aren't part of the original runners (possibly Blurr's head, definitely Megatron's new parts and definitely Starscream's swords).

They come with a $5 retail value comic that has an exclusive foil cover. That's part of the price there. Essentially a $7-8 comic packed in.

Considering Megatron was old MSRP when first revealed (same with Blurr) this increase is a real oucher to those who were late to the party. I'm not sure how they were able to justify the prior costs if this is what they needed to make the figure(s) a reality.

    Ebay:
Blurr was only ever $29.99, Megatron was the only one listed for normal MSRP for his figures price point, and Megatron going up for $29.99 was a mistake

If they can complete the season 1 and 2 cast next year, maybe also beast wars, I wouldn’t need anymore generations transformers

Sometimes I feel the same, like if Hasbro stops remaking characters I want I'll have nothing left to get. Sad really, that there likely won't be any new characters created that I'll want, so all I have to look forward to is remakes.

I love the G1 remakes we've been getting the past few years, and I'm glad we're getting some mostly good BW stuff as well, but even I, a mostly newer Transformers fan, really don't like how every new series is so heavily derived from G1, but a lot of series the past decade have gone down a route of being mostly nostalgia pandering, so it partly seems to be a part of a trend of the times, but I don't really like that trend.

I'd love another BW or Armada that keeps familiar elements and some similar characters, but new, solid aesthetics that aren't all trying to be super cartoony and stylized, and a fresh vision for the franchise, but at this point I just don't see that happening.
