Prime figures were made in Vietnam already, and they seemed alright. Point is Hasbro/Takara and every other company who has manufacturing in China is moving to where it's labor cost effective (CHEAP) and they put out a product, regardless of the finished quality.

Gotta admit ... I thought this thread was gonna be a dumpster fire. But, good job all :thumb  But you know, we’re watching.

On topic ... not unexpected. I’ll watch from a distance with some curiosity.

The best news is that vintage molds will now have to be recast. Your reissue Combaticons won't be coming from the same mold they've been using over and over again for 15 years.

The worst news is that molds from the RiD thru Prime (and unreleased G1) eras will probably not see any reissues at this point unless Hasbro is willing to ship tooling between factories - which is highly unlikely. So much for Encore Overlord unless TT or Hasbro wants to spend some cash.

Less that 15 min from you post @WEEGEE.

Note I got to page 1 of this thread and have decided not to ready any more. There are already too many political posts. This whole topic of conversation should be avoided if we don't want to have politics brought up.

It is hard, and not limited to any one group or people in the country as to "blame". Many people try to do what they can, but some things we want (like toys, movies, phones, etc.) just aren't going to be made in the USA.

If it makes you feel better, Encore Overlord was probably highly unlikely anyway.

Indeed. I was just searching for a highly desired yet unreleased vintage G1 example.

But this essentially forces Hasbro's hand to do new tooling for reissue G1 Dinobots if that ever hits the table.

I know but having purchased Jetfire and Shockwave recently regardless where they were made, makes me wonder if things will get worse or better from here. Joints on both were not good at all and I didn't even transform them yet. I've handled KO's with better quality. Plus, MP's seem to be plagued with issues, whether paint chipping or something breaking.

They are responding appropriately, for profit-driven corporate structures who defer morality up a ladder of managers who increasingly value career and wealth over principles and people. He would know if self-awareness was in play.

Exactly. This news isn’t a big deal at all. Everything pretty much will continue as normal.

    Yay!

Without getting political, it’s no secret that China is playing a dirty game that will cost them big time in decades to come

    Fingers crossed prices won’t increase
