Yea, I know. I shouldn't even post about this shit. People don't care.

If they can't see it, it doesn't exist.

I won't buy a product made in India either. I pay for enough of that garbage with my tax dollars already.

I'd argue its the economic system at play and its unending overwhelming desire to earn profit, profit, profit, no matter the cost, no matter the consequences, to attend to the sacred feet of the investors who will try their best to destroy you the moment you stop filling their pocketbook and consider 'stop growth and be sustainable' to be the sort of dark, wretched words that causes them to begin fleeing as a vampire does from the sun.

    Eat the rich.

It's not a big deal and will likely save them money in the end.

The fact is that they were already moving production out of China and raising prices long before anybody started talking about tariffs. Your RID2015 and CW toys are Vietnamese. Blaming the tariffs is convenient but wrong.

Right, but to make this announcement at this time makes them look good. It also makes people forget the real reason they've been moving out of China in the first place.

If you think these things are expensive now, I can only imagine what they'd cost if they were made in the US.

Permanent corporate tax cuts and tariffs on China, still no made in the US transformers? At least since india and vietnam workers don't get paid as much so we should see transformers get cheaper right?

A wise move, if I could move myself from the UK to Ireland to avoid the post-Brexit issues I would!

It would be too 'difficult'. Americans have become fat and lazy (I was born here, relax) and want to buy everything as cheap as possible and with government money. There's a particular group you can thank for that but...

I personally shop for items made in America and am willing to pay more for them. Alas, that's not the general consensus.

Unlike the 80s, Funskool only conducted distribution (from China) until Hasbro moved away from them and established their own factory in India. Until recently, all my Hasbro products came from Funskool India. In the 80s, they manufactured and the toys were affordable for neighboring countries such as us.

Other side of the globe, so I've been monitoring. Nothing big jumped out to me.

Ever since Hasbro established their factory in India, we saw a massive price jump. But I believe that it's not Hasbro's fault. Our country is notoriously famous for taxes and they increase every year. A Deluxe Class figure now stands at US$45. Don't get me started on Voyagers and Leaders.

    I'm not seeing how Fat/Lazy=Cheap.

I also try to buy stuff that is made in the USA as well but it's damn hard; I just recently bought a pair of scissor tongs that were made here in the US, though.

    Random theory.
Since China has built their economy on manufacturing, companies leaving is bad news for them. If enough move out, wonder if their whole economy will crash and years later, companies come back and get cheap labor again since so many people will be desperate for jobs, they'd work cheap.

It also depends on the item. People would rather pay more for a made in USA TV, jacket or boots than for toys.
