News Post: Hasbro To Reduce Toy Production In China And Move To India And Vietnam
For all lines that aren't Transformers, that is.
Let\'s see how long it takes to get political.
I thought most TFs were already made in Vietnam since... oh, 2014 or so.
It's official, Hasbro is in fact: COBRA.
They are going to take over the world.
Takara made that decision. They're in charge of the plastic production side of things.
This decision was on the table back in 2014, then they announced it 2015, but because (and quote) \"trade wars are fun and easy to win!\" ... they\'re expediting their plan.
Got to avoid those new tariffs
Meh. Can quality get any worse in those countries compared to now? We will see.
I imagine when the idea of moving production (back in 2014) came up, everyone was all, "ehhhh... I don't know... really? It's already cheap enough in China..."
And today, the guy who brought it up is all, "Huh? HUH?!? Who said it was a dumb idea? HUH? Did someone say we shouldn't bother making plants in Vietnam? HUH? How much money did I save the company? HUH?"
I'd love to be able to gloat like that over a situation I stumbled into fortuitously. Maybe it was a happy accident, but I sure as hell would GLOAT!
Some Star Wars toys are also already being made in Vietnam
They act like they didn't make these claims years ago and never did it.
They had to find someone and something to blame for them not following through.
It seems to be getting companies to do what they said they were going to.
don\'t care where it\'s made just don\'t screw us the consumers
"Hasbro moves production to India and Vietnam"
Those tariffs are sure bringing jobs back to America....
Does this change in production territory affect the consumer in any real way? I'm new to collecting, so forgive me if this may come across as a stupid question.
The tariffs won't make stuff skyrocket in price, which was a large worry. Looks like hasbro thought about that.
(despite a lot of people seeing this as a "whatever" type of news, its a huge thing for the US.
The sad thing is most people don't understand that it is a great thing.
These companies fight it tooth and nail.
They will eventually
So are Transformers toys, as other people already pointed out!
Heaven forbid the day comes when there’s no more under-developed countries to screw over, and we actually have to pay a realistic price for things...
Believe that after you do it like....five gazillion times, because nobody listens to you the first time, it gets tiring....
