Its not good news for the environment. Toys are still plastic and or metal. How will the almighty Hasbro solve that issue? Even toys themselves are toxic to the planet.

It’s a welcome change environmentally but it’ll cement me going back to online only. You can’t ask me as the consumer to pay for the burden of encouraging toy swappers with this.

Then I'd like to see stores doing exchanges instead of returns for toys and collectibles.
The only reason swappers do that is to get a toy for free. Make it difficult in the slightest and they'll stop.
    Maybe?

Tell that to my vintage boxed and carded vintage G1 sitting on my shelves. What's ironic is getting rid of using the plastic that is more likely to be spared the landfill than not.

It's great to see several companies taking this seriously.

This is great. My only concern is removing the ability to see the figure before purchasing means that you basically have to hope you don\'t get shoddy printing, miss-assembly, or other manufacturing defects. It just means we\'ll all be doing more returns and exchanges in the future.

Given we know that hasbro won’t add foam (cause they are cheap with packaging) means it’ll be like jetfire and the titans, boring and lame cardboard insides with the figure tied into them. Can’t wait to hate the boxes with a passion.

Another issue is no window means you won’t be able to catch the attention of parents as easily. I don’t expect this change to go well.

To those of us who have been only buying online for years this is a non-issue.

I've already addressed this particular statement. It might benefit you to read through the thread, and to realize that not everyone's buying habits mirror yours for various reasons.

Certainly that's not too much to expect?

Nice news for disposal, but a touch frightening regarding inspection. Only a touch because A) I buy most of my online and hope for the best, and B) even when you can inspect you can only get so much of the picture.

I'm more curious about the stability of the packaging. Sometimes they go so hardcore in securing the toy into place it takes some surgery (or wild destruction) to extract them.
Even worse when all that pressure screws up something (like weapons) that have a touch of flex to them.

I usually do read through most of a young thread, I just happened to not on this one.

Honestly, today’s been a rough day and I probably should have just not posted.

    Here's a recap for you:

Thread: "Boy, I don't really care per se, I just don't want to get screwed by not being able to see in the box."

As long as they have some tamperproof packaging. If not, I am buying it online.
