Let's hope it never comes to that. Of course, if it does, they will be boycotted like Star Wars and Marvel over here.

You should expect delays in distribution. As every other industry, the toy industry is being affected by the coronavirus. Hasbro CEO informed about this situation some days ago.

I'm particularly impressed for this action, usually companies are more focused in money than people. Good for Hasbro.

Why don't we just close down the entire planet while we're at it. This is getting ridiculous..

This is just idiotic mass hysteria. You'd think Martians had invaded New Jersey again.

China hasn't recovered. They just stopped announcing anything and hope they can con the world into thinking their flu is getting better. They have probably killed more of their own citizens thru sheer bureaucratic incompetence than the WuFlu would have done on its own. All because they don't want the world to know how they did it or how they're treating their own citizens like disposable cogs. Sweet Primus, even treating their people like actual slaves would be a step up from this, because slaves are valuable to their owners.

Yup. Any company that can operate remotely should instruct employees to do so. It decreases opportunities to spread and that's all we can do at this point.

If we do it right, it will seem like we overreacted.

At this point I think people are just trying to get some time off.

So let me guess..... Paramount practically never let Bumblebee talk in all but one movie, so in the Snake Eyes new film Snake Eyes will ironically never shut the hell up....?

Well Jason did cancel all Friday the 13th practice's yesterday so you may have a point.

My place of employment has implemented work at home policies. More than likely they may be working at home instead at office.

I’ve seen people (not on this site specifically) constantly talk about how companies care more about their profits than their employees. It’s absolutely ironic and hilarious to see, now that a company has chosen to put their employees first rather than profits, people rage because they might not get their toys (I’ve kind of always said that, while I love my fellow TF fans, this fandom was full of man children. It looks like I was right). It’s sad, but hilarious.

Closing the offices is not surprising and a good move.

Surprised there are frustrated people on here complaining about it. There are billion dollar companies who make far more in annual revenue than Hasbro and they have been instituting a wfh policy since last week, but no one will complain about that since they don't make toys.

Good move, over the last couple of days I have been constantly reminded about the Stupid Mayor from Jaws.

I feel reminded of the equally stupid mayor from Batman's "Contagion" storyarc.

I've seen a quote from MIB making the rounds recently
"A person is smart, people are dumb, panicky dangerous animals."

    Just wanted to share that.

Also could be worse, we could be reminded of Mayor Quimby from The Simpsons

Toy industry "could" be affected? :lol
Have you seen Hasbro's stock collapse? :cry

My guestimate: product delays, cancellations (or indefinite postponing), and definitely smaller toys (to cut costs).

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wa...a-845d-e35b0234b136_story.html?outputType=amp

I've learned TF fans neither invest in the stock market nor watch the news.

If you did either, you might feel embarrassed about your comments.

Treating this disease like a joke is like laughing about someone following you home. I get it: until you see the danger in front of you, you refuse to believe it. Unfortunately, when you wait for danger to find you, it's usually too late to avoid the harm. This "panic" is about prevention. That doesn't mean hoard all the TP you can, but it does mean you should avoid social contact, not travel to infected zones, and quarantine if feeling ill.

    Here you go:
Here's what could really sink the global economy: $19 trillion in risky corporate debt - CNN

The coronavirus is one Jenga block. I get it: it's insignificant among thousands in this tower. But just like the game, removing one Jenga block can send the entire tower down.

The conversation on Wall Street is turning from "this could lead to a Recession" to "this WILL lead to a recession". Everybody remember that term? A recession is when companies have mass lay offs to help offset all that debt during a financial crisis.

If the coronavirus does not come under control very soon, it's not illness you need to worry about. There's a very strong possibility of terrible economic impacts all over the world. Who knew the global economy was so fragile? Now you know.

I think you guys will live if you don't get your toys for a little while... Human lives are more important and It's better to be safe then sorry. Hasbro made the right decision.

I’m sure Hasbro will bounce back from this. We all will. But good on them for taking the situation seriously.

And to the people who think this is all overreaction...that’s the point. It helps flatten the curve so our healthcare system isn’t overwhelmed. There is no need to panic, but we should all do our part and care about one another. There are vulnerable populations that can and will be severely affected by this pandemic. As much as I want my Studio Series figures, toy production shouldn’t be the priority right now, wouldn’t ya say?

I mean. Most of the people who work there are fine, and that's what matters in the long run.
