Please look and feel like G1 but just way better animation and more reflective of the Generations toy line... oh man, this is precisely what I've wanted forever now if they do it...

I\'m really hoping that what we saw in the My Busy Book are the designs. It sounds like they might

 

"Titled as Transformers: Cyberverse (Chapter 1)we are teased with images from Generation 1, hinting at the long rumored G1 Redux series."

Kind of sounds like an anthology series. With each season focusing on a different era of Transformers. Would be cool to get some new RiD or Animated stories out of this.

 

It could be a reboot, using the basic story of the Sunbow show remade for a modern audience, like Netflix Voltron. This is my preference. It could also be "lost episodes" set during the original series (and potentially ALL of the original shows), but focusing on key characters who are popular now.

 

This news is confusing at best. What exactly is confirmed other than the name and the focus (which is just generic speak anyway). It sounds like nothing. We will have to wait and see what this develops into. I would love to see a return to the main continuity of the TransFormers, I think it makes sense when you look at retail, but I am hesitant to think they could pull it off well.

If it does end up being something like G1 episodes reanimated with different voices, that sounds very yuck. If instead it is those base Marvel ideas fleshed out and told more in depth, well that's something that has made sense to do for decades. If it has something entirely new, we will just have to judge it based on that.

So is RiD 2 the end of the Primeverse? I wouldn't mind. What started off with promise really ended up just as messy as the original continuity despite it's entire purpose for existing being to fix that problem. Let's move on from half-ass retells and get back into a world we all care about.

 

If that's the case, this show DEFINITELY has my attention. We might get a really nice toyline out of it.

It's the meat and potatoes of the franchise, kids. We will always go back to G1. Even the movies has Bee as a VW Bug again with his solo movie. As much as I love BW & Animated, BW grabbed a lot of the old fans by attaching itself to G1. Saw it happen. Animated was a love letter to Transformers as a whole.

 

IIRC, Hasbro doesn't hold the rights to RiD stuff.

 

Isn't every series a G1 Reboot?

While I've always felt that a G1 Reboot is Hasbro saying "THIS IS WHAT YOU WANT RIGHT? G1 AGAIN?" I do admit I'm somewhat excited to see where it's going. Considering that the Aligned Continuity started in 2010 (!), it's nice to have something new

Oh man. That would be amazing. And going by their description, it could fit.

 

Yeah, this is what I'm thinking/hoping. It's inspired by G1 (at least partly), and will pull from some of those stories, but it will be a new take.

 

I would be pissed if it looked good because I just got the RID Soundwave a couple of weeks ago

 

Eh, Generations and RID are different enough in looks. I really liked the concept of RID Soundwave.

This was my thought as well. Each chapter focuses on a different continuity.

I'm greedy, though, so I want it to be all G1.
