I think the main, singular advantage 2006 has is height and bulk, if that's what you're looking for. Oh, and comes with the ball and chain weapon and can fire missiles. Kingdom will most likely be half his size. Otherwise, Kingdom does almost everything else better.

My only real grievance with the Kingdom one so far is that the robot head's antennae are a bit short.

I guess the gorilla chest looks a bit wrinkly, which is a bit odd, but everything else about it just looks so good.

Also, I'm unsure I like the serious gaps in his chest in robot mode, both above and below the chest plate. In hand, I might not notice much, I suppose...

I have my old original bw monkey, and i got the masterpiece when he came out. I chosed to not buy the retool years ago because the differences were not so big to justify the purchase.

But i preordered the new one. Looks a lot better than the others. And i'm not even a fan of primal :D

I'm loving Primal except. . . well, the hands are perfect in beast mode. But in bot mode it's like somebody stuck a giant's hands on him. Just way out of proportion. Especially egregious in that pic above showing the arm cannons.

I don't understand why there are so many pics of primal and still no more pics of megs. I like dinosaurs. A lot.

You'd expect a much bigger improvement than that.. it's not twice as good which is what it costs.

Well, the old mold was an Ultra-class, which ran $20 each back in the day. Nowadays, the same toy would cost $33 with inflation. So, they'll essentially cost the same in their respective eras. The "Voyagers" of the Beast Era were the Megas, which ran 14.99, which would be 24.87 now. And I'd say Kingdom Primal is probably better than BW Mega Scorponok, Polar Claw, etc. and worth the extra few dollars.

Polar claw was nothing more than a white cube with a face, even i could design something better:D
But i think this primal is a very good improvement. Also, he looks more realistic in his gorilla mode than the previous molds. And that's a win.

Cheetor's face looks less old manish in the above pictures. That's good, although I tend to prefer a more cheerful expression and freckles.

Why? Primal has a relatively simple transformation considering he has a humanoid alternate mode to begin with

The Kingdom version nails the aesthetic just as much as MP-32 does, at 1/4 the cost. Having owned MP32 (and MP43) at one point, the Kingdom figures look to be a better value for your dollar. Sure, it's not 100% cartoon accurate, but I don't care. Generations is aiming for a modern take on classic designs, not cartoon accuracy. I'd rather more realistic looking beast modes, warts and all.

At $30 for Primal and $50 for Beast Megatron, it's a hell of a lot better than paying MP prices for fiddly figures that I'd feel terrified to pose, and even more terrified if they fell off the shelf.

I have no history with beast wars having moved on from the franchise around 1990. Who knew 30 years later I'd have a collection that is far greater then the one I had in the eighties.

I have primal and megs on preorder and have passed on rattrap and cheetor.
