Huh, who knew I'd like that figure more as Fat Rodimus (yeah, good luck convincing me he's not Fat Rodimus; Lift-Ticket my arse) than as Hoist?

FAT RODIMUS HUNGERS FOR SNACK FROM OWN GUN ARM. :p

    Ebay:
It's based on a G.I.Joe character who is a helicopter pilot, I suppose FunPub thought it was better suited for a tow truck.

Enough to make it cost more than $22 I'm guessing.

But really, I think "cheap toy" and "$22 adult collectible" are one of those situations where it would take Michael Scott to spot the differences.

$22 is a cheap toy these days, that's pretty much the base price for most action figures over 5poa

Hasbro may be able to look at the purchase histories of the Pulse users and see which brands overlap the most in their orders. Maybe they saw that people who buy GI Joe don’t buy Ghostbusters or Star Wars stuff so they felt it was safe to put them all up at the same time while keeping them away from the Marvel and Transformers HasLabs.

Personally I wouldn’t mind the Transformer HasLab being a once every two years thing. Give people time to put money aside and we already have a yearly big product in the form of the Titans. The other brands don’t have the same annual big product like Transformers does so if they get a HasLab each year and not us I am okay with it.

I\'m glad they took this direction with the gen selects packaging. The previous designs weren\'t bad, but these are way more interesting to look at than a glorified shoebox

Hideous! Why would anybody pay more for this paint job? Not cool Hasbro, not cool at all.

"Action figure" is just a marketing term that was created to sell GI Joes to boys when they first came out when they were exactly the same as dolls marketed to girls at the time. Doll, action figure, mecha, it doesn't matter what we call them as we like them just the same. Plus who doesn't have the Dinobots displayed having a tea party with Mrs. Nesbitt?

Who cares what others think of what you call it anyways. If you like to call it a collectible or action figure then there is no one stopping you. Life is too short to care what others think.

This toy feels like it's the answer to the question: What would Ronald McDonald look like as a Transformer?

Yeah, I'm not into 80's Diaclone enough to buy this. Bought a few like Spinout, Cordon, the Puffer 2-Pack (though that's not technically Diaclone), but not really feeling this one. I might've been tempted had he come with new weapons or some kind of new blast effects/accessories.

If a Hauler comes out, I'm definitely going to want Lift-Ticket as a companion piece for him!

Sure, but even without GI Joes, I doubt toy robots would be called dolls, unless someone wants to be very condescending and/or wrong on purpose.
On the other hand, I've seen some people calling Transformers "jigsaws to be figured out". Whatever's the closest to one's heart, I suppose.

It's fucking hilarious that the ad copy for Lift-Ticket is straight up "This is a copy of a BotCon toy that was a copy of a Diaclone toy and that's why you should give a shit."

No personality, no backstory, just straight up embracing the postmodern weirdness of the figure rather than put forth any effort beyond "you know you want it you fucking hogs."

I guess if you want to know what Lift-Ticket is "like" you can go to TFWiki, but there's a shocking level of contempt for Transformers as characters the last couple of years. Everything is sort of trotted out onto shelves and the buyer is just assumed to already know who the toy represents and why they should care about them.

(and yes, we all know the netflix shows exist, but did you actually learn anything about what any of those characters were like from those shows? Tell me about Scrapface's personality, please.)

Yeah... Referring to them as "dolls" is wrong on so many different levels.

Oh very much so. I would hardly call much of the MAFEX, SH Figuarts, Three Zero, Hot Toys (or any similar manufacturer) stuff "toys". They are definitely collectibles that are specifically geared towards adults.
