I live in the area and the housing market is insane, let alone the pricing for office building space and the wages for Boston-based employees.

They're going to need to make up for that increased cost somehow...

Sounds like they're being lured with tax breaks, but if so that's a hard hit for employees. I commute in on the train to Boston a few days a week and the effect on Work/Life balance is tough. I really feel for any employees in the corporate office that would have to relocate.

 

Yeah that sounds like a bad idea overall.

Don't they play this card every couple of years to strongarm the city into giving them better rates?

 

Most large businesses do, yeah. I wouldn’t expect anything to actually happen here.
