I realize everybody wants Hasbro to release Rumble and Frenzy, but how in any way will they make any money on this? Now if they did something like Tailgate, THAT I could see. But fuck themselves out of a domestic release? Again? No, not at all.

They regularly do dumber shit than that to the Joe line (seriously, Zaranna needs to be that damn hard to get?), plus stuff like the smaller Energon Megatron & Optimus and Cybertron voyager Starscream as TRU exclusives. And a fair amount of new mold Star Wars items also. So Rumble & Frenzy could easily become SDCC exclusives for Hasbro.

Not being an ass but, has your head been in a hole this past year? 80's fashion/music is making a FIERCE comeback/reboot! If there was ever a time for JEM to have a chance at a relaunch it's now. Hopefully they launch before X-mas so I can surprise my little sister. She was a huge JEM fan when she was a little girl.

If NYCC was getting any exclusives, other than SDCC leftovers, we would have seen them by now. Also there is this answer to a question from the recent G.I. Joe Q&A.

I wonder if Hasbro will do a GI Joe scale JEM, like they did with Matt Tracker

If Hasbro ends up selling the NYCC exclusives like they do the SDCC exclusives then I wish good luck to ppl attending NYCC. Trying to get the SDCC exclusives each year is a bloodbath, and takes so much time and energy that it ruins the rest of the show. After years of getting stuff from Hasbro at SDCC, I'm asking myself if it's really worth it any more. This past year was the worst, every year I routinely see people fighting to get in line, kids being pushed, and a lot of ugliness.

That all sounds like the norm over here....business as usual :duel

So Im assuming you would have to get early there to be one of the first....also...does Hasbro usually have enough product to last all 4 days or do they usually sell out a few hours into the first day....cuz it would really suck to know that by saturday theres nothing else to buy from them....

    :jawdropper:  OH. MY. GOD.

So excited about what they'll be revealing about Jem. (new cartoon with music by Freezepop, please?) Much more so than anything Transformers and GI Joe. Never thought I'd be saying that, but then I also never thought the cartoon would have held up after all these years better than G1 or GI Joe.

Also, do want to go to NYCC this year as it's always in my neck of the woods, more or less.

Hasbro can take my money now if they do that. Especially if they make an Eric Raymond. He can be retconned into Tomax and Xamot's younger brother.

Just to clarify, exclusive can mean anything.

Heck this year at SDCC it meant limited edition PACKAGING.

They could do whatever the heck they wanted and just throw it in a LE box and call it a day. For that reason, I don't see a Rumble/Frenzy LE two-pack out of the question. They could then still issue them (or just one) stateside at any time.

And can you imagine the freakout if they did that? A F/R two-pack at NYCC and then only issuing Rumble (or blue fig) at mass retail? I can see teh nerd-rage now, lol.

Chances are if Jem is relaunched its product line is going to be more along the lins of Bratz or Monster high and competeting in the market place against them.

Music wise I'm guessing is going to be avril lavigne like...more pop-y than rock-y with a bit of an edge (as much as you can get with a kiddies brand)

Excellent. I went to comic-con last year and will go this year again. It's a 15 min walk from my apartment and 10 min walk from my office. No excuse not to go.

The problem is that there are no guarantees, and too many variables. I was one of the first ten people to enter the SDCC convention center on preview night, after lining up for 14 hours. However, we got screwed when security allowed a lot of other people to enter the convention center before us. We ran to the Hasbro booth and stood in line another 2 and a half hours, only to be told to leave because we wouldn't make it to the sales counter in time. So I waited a total of over 16 hours, and didn't make it in. It was one of the worst experiences I've ever had as a collector. Unfortunately things like this happen every year. It takes a lot of the fun out of the convention experience.
