Hello Everybody, First time poster. However I have a concern. I just managed to pick up the new Masterpiece Optimus Prime from my local Toys R Us and I have it from the stores manager that this was their last one in stock and was expected to be the last one period as its no longer being shipped. Now as its a bit pricey considering my monthly budget. I agreed that I could not open it until Christmas. However I saw this through the packaging. Now as you should be able to see it appears that their is a gap between the grill and the silver plastic on the right side (or bottom given the orientation of the image). Further more the edge of the silver plastic is not flush with the edge of the red plastic below it (or to the left given the orientation of the image) as it is on the other side of the grill. Now I know little of how this toy transformers and so it occurs to me that this may be nothing more than things not being fully in place within the package such as like how the one door on the back of the trailer is slightly ajar. But as I paid $113 for this after sales tax and given I won't be able to exchange it for another I want to find out exactly how much of an issue this is from those who already have the toy open. If its going to be an unresolvable issue (I'm not adverse to a bit of minor disassembly if that is what is necessary) then i will be contacting Hasbro about the issue to see what they can do, right away. I'd appreciate any input on this matter at all. Regards, oberonprime
It's not a QC issue. The part is just slightly out of alignment. Just like MP-01, the silver part is actually the wheel well, which spins around for transformation. It's a movable part, separate from the red part below it. False alarm. You can get back to us if you find the part is actually pinned in crooked or something, but at this point, it looks like nothing.
So I saw this and had a look at mine which is still in the box and I intend for it to stay that way till I move out of my parents house and have more space available for display... and it looks the same as yours in the picture. So now I'm wondering if I should open it up and see... but I would like to keep it sealed so it's it's easier to deal with in the small confines of my room...
Okay! I was worried so I went ahead and opened it up and it slide right in place so it is nothing to be worried over. Must have shifted during shipping or something.
As an owner of the Hasbro release of MP-01 I am familiar with this mechanism in that toys transformation. But as its never been an issue with alignment on that item and for all I know MP-10 doesn't transform the same way at all. For now it sounds like its not much to worry about. -oberonprime
Seriously not an issue. That part moves as part of transformation. Can be pushed flush with ease. No alarm or even concern is necessary.
Thank you so much for posting your findings. I wasn't worried much after archons reply. And then I was a bit less and a bit more worried after you made your first reply. After all surely it had to be something that shifted for both mine and yours to be like that. But the paranoid part of me thought "production issues". As i have to wait till Christmas before i even see it again much less get to open it, your post that your identical issue is not an issue puts me much at ease. -oberonprime
