Dammit, those don't sound like character names for the TF3 line...

Yep, they've got movie and merchandising tagline written all over 'em. Wouldn't be surprised if 'Destination Earth' appears on the poster somewhere...

AUTOBOT ALLIANCE was seen on all the "yellow-packaging" product cards back at BotCon, referring to both (at the time) existing and upcoming products.

Speaking of sub-lines, since the Speed Stars Battle Series vs. sets also come with "Hunt for the Decepticons" codes, and they're obviously not "HTFD" toys, I'm thinking that the "yellow packaging" line doesn't really have a true name (other than the umbrella Transformers line). "Hunt for the Decepticons" is just a promo/campaign that is run under multiple lines, but isn't meant to be considered a proper name for the toy sub-line, especially when the same HTFD promo is available with the Speed Stars toys.

Destination Earth sounds more like it could be some kind of prequel material for TF Prime, if you ask me. Spark your Summer is obviously TF3 related, and Unlock the Secrets sounds like a merchandising tie-in for it as well.

Yeah I agree with the last two. "Destination Earth" is the one that has the widest range of possibilities, though I can imagine it on a poster I don't think it would be bothered to be trademarked unless it was a marketing slogan.

    Time will ultimately tell.

On a side note the original report can be found here, since it wasn't linked to in the article

Didn't Mountain Dew have a "Transform Your Summer" promo? I expect the Spark one is something along those lines.

I wonder if any of them relate to the TF3 line gimmick. I'm guessing 'Unlock the secrets' could be something like that.

I wonder if Destination Earth is the name of the new film. I presume 'Revenge of The Fallen' was trademarked before its release too...

Since Botcon and from a few thins I've seen and read on retailer submissions I think Hunt For the Decepticons and indeed NEST is just a campaign name and not a subline name but as with "Watch on Fox Kids" it's a convenient moniker to use to describe them.

The Packaging design seems a bit muddled, you might like to say that current lines are Transformers (yellow boxes), Transformers Generations (red boxes) & Transformers Powercore Combiners (Orange boxes) - but there's also some lines that are in Red boxes (like minicons) and are lacking any mention of Generations.

I think it will be convenient to use the campaign name of "Autobot Alliance" as if it was a subline as if for not other reason it makes describing characters a little easier sometimes :

    For example :

Deluxe Sideswipe (Revenge of the Fallen Movie line)(ROTF)
    Strike Mission Sideswipe (NEST)
Sidearm Sideswipe (Hunt for the Decepticons)(HFTD)
    Multi-pack Sideswipe [blue markings]
    Sidearm Sideswipe [Japanese] (Autobot Alliance)

Anyway I agree HFTD is probably not a subline as such but it is a useful term still.
