    I dont know about you guys, but i noticed a few of the new alts have only been repaints with no new molds.

    Sunstreaker = Dead end
    Rollbar = Swindle
    Ricochet = Silvertreak

    They all have the same body, head, weapons and only been repainted... all previous Alts of similar modes had something different than thier similar modes. Also they atleast had hier own unique heads... Im just thinking Hasbro Hasbeen getting a tad Lazy in thier development... but dont get me wrong.. i still love them and have bought them all!!! (still looking for swerve hehe..)

    Any comments.. i really think hasbro should of atleast done head remolds. :banghead:

    Better repaint Alts than no Alts at all, if it keeps the line on the shelves while new things are in the works. It's not like you're required to buy them all.

    Besides, people actually wanted Sunstreaker.

    ...some oddballs even LIKE Rollbar.

    Such as me.

    Hasbro don't seem to be looking for the same profit margins as Takara did on BT's...
    as a result, costs are going to be saved somewhere i guess.

    I agree with the second 2 but Sunstreaker is what we should have gotten from day one.

    That I agree 100000000000000%

    Actually, Hasbro were stated to say that the reason Rollbar and Riccochet were bought into Alternators existance was due to the very high price it cost to manufacture the Optimus Prime alternator. By bringing out two of the eldest molds, repainted (the cheapest option without a direct re-release) Hasbro should be able to re-coup the costs of producting the Optimus Prime toy....

    Sunstreaker - well, fans were bitching about him since the begining, and that mold WAS originally supposed to be him....

    Ahhh yes the prime mold that was not going to be prime, but Takara made him be prime and then they cancel it. :banghead:

    Had they made Ricochet a Meister repaint instead of a Silverstreak one, I'd have snapped him up in a heartbeat. Releasing a third version of the WRX, the single worst shelf-warmer in the Alternators line, strikes me as an incredibly stupid idea on Hasbro's part.

    I do love Sunstreaker, but I'm not really keen on Ricochet or Rollbar. But if they help defray the costs of the Alt line and pad out the cases so we don't get huge pile-ups of Sunny and Skids, I'm not going to complain too much. Besides, it's $40 that gets to stay in my account. :D

    Swindle was the single worst shelfwarmer for us here... And of course they had to make a third version of Jeep... :banghead:

    But yeah, new heads would've been great... But this topic has been :horse: ...

    In the meantime, we still don't know who the new RSX mold is or who the new xB is going to be...

    Frankly I'm surprised its taken us TWO YEARS to get to a point where we have direct redecos with no remolding.

    I'd say Hasbro is doing pretty damn good with Alternators.

    Besides, I never got Swindle....

    I can understand the repaints since it's almost like a re-launch of the line with older models (tracks,meister) being repackaged and with walmart carrying them again (except for mine :( ). But it better not be a reacurring trend.

    I wouldn't be surprised if it works out that we will see the original mold , a remold and a straight repaint (of the remold so far) for each Alt model, with swerve being the exception due to new head.

    I believe that hasbro said (when we first saw Silverstreak) that every Alternator mold would see at least one retooling or repaint, they never stated it'd be JUST one, so yeah, they could well end up repainting everyone twenty times. But that'd just be stupid.

    Reason that they didn't repaint Riccochet from Meister was due to the fact that Meister is being re-released in a couple of months time, no point having two of the same mold on the shelves at one time really.

    The slight remold and new paint job was bearly enough to buy it twice, but I won't shell out another $20 for just a repaint on a mold I have 2 of already.

    I suspect a large number of collectors fall into that category. I've no idea how well this line is doing with kids, but I suspect collectors comprise a much larger percentage of the Alt market than we do the Cybertron market. Therefore, I suspect these repaints will not sell very well at all, and Hasbro will probably get the message. At the very least, I suspect they'd do a straight repaint first, and then a redeco for the 3rd go around.

    I would've done the same. Of course at this point maybe they'll just do a black Meister and actually call him Stepper. Or maybe it's be a domestic red Meister. We really don't know anything about that next release of it.

    I'd imagine the stapper thing is a long shot, but who knows.
