Every time I dig into one of these sticker mix ups it does seem to be that the original MC/Diaclone intended placement ends up making more sense. Tracks was a great case in point. I ended up paying £115 for Soundwave and both cassette packs. That was a significant mark up, and I agree that Soundwave is very fairly priced at retail. I wouldn’t blame you. I’ve considered it All the best Maz
A lot of these releases have ended up on discount, so a bit of patience may bring the price down to something affordable eventually All the best Maz
There's always a chance of a sale or clearance. I was not going to pay $50 for the Prime. I ended up getting one when they hit $25, then another when they dropped to $13 (missing instructions though). edit:...and Maz beat me to it.

Now I have to ask my 1995 version of me; Why would a Walkman have speakers? Batteries all the way for Micro-change, but I think I like my G1 having them either side of the cassette door. It's the rub-sign positioning I hate the most. He looked great in 1984, but the rub replacing his main faction logo never sat right for me.
I think I'm with you on that one - in that I see value in having a G1 Soundwave with speaker stickers despite the obviously odd nature of it. Unfortunately, we are not all lucky enough to have a Cassette Man to have battery stickers Yes, I also dislike the rubsign on the tape door, much prefer the reissue solution to it. So how about that for my 20,000th post on these boards? Perfect microcosm of my existence online; posting about the minute details of G1 Transformers, agreeing with people I respect while at the same time spewing thinly veiled barbs of jealousy at toys others have that I want All the best Maz
You want to read something really funny? Last week when I finally got my Walmart reissue in hand I was sitting there remembering I read it somewhere that the "speaker" stickers were not right with the original instructions for the Hasbro toy. Went looking on the internet and found a photo you did long ago mentioning it, but no long post like this. I did more digging and found the scans of the original instructions for both the Hasbro ones and Takara showing the locations for both. I'm glad you made your post now so I can reference it. I have yet to put the stickers on since I am torn on either recreating my brother's original Soundwave with the speakers or the other with the batteries.
Wait...what? I've talked about this before? I was sure I only learned about this last week! Wow, scary that I am now at the age where I am re-learning stuff I already talked about before and feel compelled to write about it again. Yikes....do you have the post I made handy? Haha are you sure it's not just the way you have him standing How about having him in tape player mode and the battery cover off so you can admire it that way as speakers and batteries? All the best Maz

All the best Maz[/QUOTE] I could do that but I like having him in robot mode. I'll just display them both so I can enjoy each of them as I want to represent them separately.
Sorry, it was not a post but photos of Soundwave. Sadly I think the link no longer worked, but it was from one of your accounts since I was searching "Maz G1 Soundwave" or something like that.
I recall that unforgettable Fisher Price portable tape player had a speaker haha...and incidentally what i remember playing the most on it was my friend's TFTM soundtrack! Or Laserbeak's Fury... All the best Maz
but he's a microcassette recorder. they usually have speakers so you can play back your note to self stuff.
