Interesting. Almost a shame they didn't succeed. Lionsgate is a good studio with some exciting licenses. Think both parties could have benefited from this.

Though it does make me curious. If Hasbro had succeeded, and if they would want Lionsgate to make new Transformers movies. Could they even do that? Or would it be Marvel Studios/Fox/Sony all over again?

 

They did, its called Transformers Prime. All they need to do is call in Robert Orci and Alex Kurtzman to save this brand again.

 

So the live action movies are such trash that Hasbro would have a buy the studio for them to be produced.

 

What is going on with the writing in these articles today? Anyway, let's hope Hasbro can focus on making good toys and learn how to licence out the brand to talented people who care (like Marvel who never should have been severed from the franchise). They cannot be a media company because they simply don't get fandom at all and they aren't building anything new or interesting. Bringing Kind Arthur into TF lore is not new or interesting, it just rapes both King Arthur and TF, neither of which need each other at all.

If they want to tear down their future, pretending to be a media company will be a sure way of doing it.

After The Mummy bombing at the box office, Kurtzman should stay away from Transformers. I used to say I wanted him and Orci back after TF Prime, but now it's probably not a good idea.
