To be fair, it's not just Hasbro opening their factories. Everyone else is doing the same. Even movie theaters are starting to open up there. Hasbro is just following the crowd.

Production shifted to Vietnam about 10 years ago but not for everything. Some MP's get manufactured in China, some in Vietnam.

Oh obviously, never meant to suggest otherwise. Coronavirus's shadow is going to be long. I just think its interesting to speculate on how the pandemic is going to effect life in unexpected ways going forward; its also a nice distraction from thinking about things that actually matter.

 

Didn\'t Hasbro announce that they\'ve started their manufactoring move to India recently?  Can\'t imagine that they have much items that they are still making in China still.  

 

Transformers aren’t made in China. They make a lot of toys. Everything isn’t made in on location/country and it’s not like decsisions like that are done instantly. Sometimes these things take months or even years to go into affect

 

Hopefully, this leads to the US and other countries building up domestic manufacturing to limit their need on Chinese goods.

Yes, I know Transformers aren't made in China but other Hasbro items are or he wouldn't be worried about the Chinese factories at all.

 

And stock prices are going back up after the announcement. Missed that window to buy them when they were in the low 40s

Depends on which you believe, people are coming back to China and bringing, or in an attempt to get people back to work and make the numbers look better, people who weren't fully recovered were listed and released as recovered.

 

Yeah it's ironic imo. You got the mainlanders fleeing because they didn't want to get sick, now they're going back to their motherland because they don't want to get sick from wherever they went to escape it from...
