Lol ... some obvious work will be needed, drilling etc but the headmaster vehicle slightly pegs onto the roof where the gun would mount which led to even further speculation this should of been a thing ..

I'd wager it's a remarkable concurrence, more then anything else.

Great idea for a custom though.

LOL "separated at birth"? Great custom idea but it's no great conspiracy of ideas spanning 30 years. Would you paint Chromdome like the inner robot or the car shell?

I think Gunrunner's car looks more like Roadbuster, honestly.

I could dig Roadbuster as a Commander who seats 2 deluxes with Gunrunner as a Selects redeco or convention thing.

I love the G1 Gunrunner toy. One I should have picked up as a kid. Simple fun gimmick and better quality feel than most 1988 figures

I’d paint the headmaster body like the inner robot and the car body like the vehicle I think ..

That’s a crazy idea, I love it! I can’t wait to see the end result.

Still have my Gunrunner, such a weird creature.

I'd suggest disassembling and dyeing Getaway if you have skill in that area.

Never paint what you can dye, never dye what you can swap from another figure made from the same mold.

It's amazing what I found I could do with an old line like vintage MOTU because there's usually another figure from the same mold in the colors you want and the Classics 7 inch accessories mostly fit 5.5 inch figures perfectly because the originals are so beefy. The hardest part is getting a head... (The new Origins take MOTUC heads though with a bit of head or force.)

TFs are the opposite. Old weapons/accessories work better with new figures and heads are much easier to get through Shapeways whereas finding off the rack parts swaps are a headache.

Shapeways is great .. I’ve heard of dying, my buddy tried it and it worked but was a mess.. I figured a loose chromedome was cheaper than getaway also .. but good advice I do wanna try that ..
