I'd do a rather large LOL if it turns out this doesn't apply to Transformers.

And successfully I might add. They said it's working there because the heads aren't as easily popped off as they'd be on say a Marvel Legends and likely because at least some of the toy is visible, but I think it comes down to a less fickle consumer. Transformers as a brand has worldwide appeal that traverses age groups and children will buy what you give them. Not that Marvel Legends is strictly an adult consumer product, but obviously a large majority of their buyers are adults and adults balk at the idea of a completely closed box. I guess unlike TF's there is no packaging middle ground. They're either totally closed or totally open (i.e., on a bubble).

I'd be more in favour of 100% no windows similar to the old Superlink boxes. But I get it while I've never seen a toy vandalised in person but I've seen it a lot online and I can 100% believe petty adults and kids would do it. PET I kinda assumed they always used it honestly.

I've actually see some children and adult rotating some head off Soundwave, to find which one wasn't loose (or just messing with its head) in toy store.

I imagine no change in how it reacts to the figures.

However, I can see those plastic windows turning yellow much faster themselves making for an ugly MISB display.

Unfortunetly thats just how social media works these days, and this site is no exception. Everyone wants to attack, call out, and virtue signal for whatever they can, and no one is allowed to have an opinion any more. You like something? They will tell you why thats bad and you can’t feel that what. You don’t like something? They will do the exact same.

Everything is so antagonistic and tribalistic. In this age of “acceptance”, the one thing people won’t accept is a different opinion, and anybody who thinks different is labeled whatever bad terms they can think of in an attempt to justify their feelings and make the person they don’t like out to be the worst person ever.

I’ve stayed out of this thread so far because it’s been a mess where two groups of people are going at each other and then trying to demean each other for their opinions. Because we all can’t just agree that the move was stupid, people have to be contrarians about it, of even if disagreeing, people can’t just agree to disagree and move on.

Agreed my dude. I've been afraid of the alchohol damaging the paiont, has it done anything like that on your figures?

This. . . . .Is why we need either closed packaging or windowed. I'm excited to see the results! Also, just a window with no plastic packaging means dust can accumulate on the actual figure, which is way harder to clean since its in the box. My core skywarp needs a swifter to it constantly because of that packaging. meanwhile, my Kingdom Core Starscream is just chilling in his bubble.

I would be careful spraying alcohol on your Transformers. The new transparent plastic used from CW onwards reacts really negatively to it, to the point where minor submersion can cause disintegration. It isn't really healthy for any of the plastic they use, but it is downright solvent for the transparents.

If you must disinfect your purchases, there are other anti-microbial measures that aren't as harsh. You might even be better served leaving it in the sun for a short time, though we know what isn't always the best either.

I remember the original cop where OCP, big MegaCorp had the best intentions but the road to the inferno is paved with good intentions.

Too bad they have to pull back on it.

I wonder if we get a No-Prize if TF is also included with the return to plastic business model?

Why are you opening boxes in the store? Do you work there?

Windowless is a mistake. People want to see the thing they are buying. Plus, windowless gives of a kinda game or puzzle vibe.

Is that your response to people posting pictures of their personal experiences with the packaging? You're going to nitpick that they opened a clearly already tampered with box?
