I just found a Hasbro Astrotrain on eBay that is all white in Shuttle Mode. No purple are all. Dose this mean it has the Takara black Train Mode? I thought Hasbro didn't make any without the show accurate purple.

    Ebay:
Yeah, the train mode is black. The Hasbro re-issue is the same as the Takara version of Astrotrain.

The original Hasbro version isn't show-accurate either. :)

The most show-accurate one was the original prototype, followed by the e-Hobby version.

And back in the day, Takara also realeased a variant of Astreotain in Hasbro colors.

So to sum it up, we have:

Original prototype (doesn't transform, show colors) - unreleased
    Original Hasbro version
    Original Takara version
Variant Takara version (same colors as Hasbro version)
Takara reissue (same colors as original Takara version)
e-Hobby version (colors based on original prototype, but not quite the same)
Hasbro reissue (same colors as Takara reissue)

It's very impressive that Maz found the original Astrotrain prototype at all, even if it isn't in his possession.
