Better to keep the name, and not lose it.

I would rather have the name Transformers, than say, Go-Bots, or something equally asinine.

That’s not what Silver Optimus was saying. He was saying that there is (unfortunately in my opinion) a G1 aesthetic in every form of Transformers media including the Bumblebee movie.

Like the brand. Hate where it's been heading since 2012.

    Incorrect.

There are G1 design principles in every continuity, but not the aesthetic. The visual aesthetic of Cyberverse, Bumblebee, and Siege are all quite different. If they shared an aesthteic, they'd share and overall style of design. The fact that all Soundwaves are blue, boxy, and have a visor and mouthplate is not an aesthetic anymore than TFA and G1 share an aesthetic.

G1 show was crap. I'd love to see a proper TV show reboot of it. The toys as of late that try to call back to said era are all hollow and crap.

Megatron the bucket head, Optimus with the mouthplate, Prowl with Springer's fist in his face, it's character defining features that are easily recognized by everyone. You may as well say "yellow with bug eyes and a stroke piston in his mouth" is how a whole generation knows is Bumblebee.

Well, aren't we a barrel full of sunshine.

Nobody questions that the 80s TV show was cheesy and created for the sole purpose of being a toy commercial. But there is something it has that you're overlooking: charm. It's not supposed to be the best TV show out there, nor was it trying to be. But people have good memories of it, and it's still fun to mindlessly watch.

Hence why I said I'd LOVE to see a proper TV Show Reboot of it.

As what? Something in the vein of the OG Teen Titans? Unfortunately for us, cartoons in the USA don’t do much like that any more. They figured out they could put in bare minimum effort with nonsensical plots and still get money out of it.

Confused- did they let the original lapse or something?

"I'd love to see.." is not the same as saying "I can't wait to see.."

Please don't get me started on that garbage bonfire called Teen Titans GO.

I'm guessing they might be planning to use this as the title of the Transformers reboot movie after Bumblebee.

It\'s time to bring back the classic.
And use them in the boxes let\'s say for CHUGs releases.

The current brand layout for the Toys is very LAME.. plain TRANSFORMERS in Bold Text either in Red or Purple colors. And that\'s it.
It\'s like saying, \"Hey kid buy me. I\'m a TRANSFORMERS toys can\'t you read it punk?\"

Uh, no it isn't. It was a legendary toyline that spawned an enjoyable TV show and movie. If it wasnt for G1, you wouldnt even be on this forum.

Man, what is with the hate on G1 on this forum lately?

It's just the fans of the Bayformers designs getting mad over the fact the new movie has G1 designs in it.

Or it could be people who are tired of G1 being shoved into everything, but okay. I will say, the designs in the new Bumblebee movie look pretty badass and I’m praying to the highest power in the universe that we get toys of those designs.
