    My a̶n̶u̶s̶ body is ready.

In all seriousness, though, this will probably end up being absolutely not what we expect (i.e. original Go-Bots resurrection), and might even suck a lot of ass, but I'm holding out hope for it.

Already been done. Granted, it's very anime-esque, but I personally think it looks awesome.

"Umm, Silverbo, errr, I mean Leader-1 sir?"

    "Yes, Smallfoot"

"Someone is trying to reintroduce us to modern day Transformers fans"

"What? Who would do a thing like that? Oh no.....TURBO!!!!!!"

" Actually Sir, I suspect the guilty party may be Scooter. He saw the reception Autobot Bumblebee received from the humans, and wanted to replicate that for himself."

"Did he not see the humans trying to offline all Transformers in AOE?

"No Sir, he did not. He said he didn't want his dreams to become another Bay explosion, so he stopped watching after DOTM."

    :p :lol

Looks like nothing more than a hater write up. Some of those toys were not so bad. They had a similar write up about the worst MOTU toys....and the ones mentioned were some of the more popular ones. It's easy to write hate and rip on stuff when you don't like it, but doesn't make it true or even popular opinion, just one persons opinion.

Mind you a few on that list are kind of strange or....bad, but not all of them. At least Rogun didn't have a trigger crotch....sorry Megs, love ya and all, but you know it's true. New meaning to the term Pistol Grip.

And as for Gobots sucking so bad....

    Imona just leave dis he-uh.....

I watched the opening, and I heard a loooot of Star Trek sound affects. Not saying it's a bad thing, just saying it's there. (And it fits nicely with the bay movies' tradition of referencing Star Trek :D )

I remember watching this cartoon as I got ready for school. I thought Leader-1 was ok. My favorite was Turbo, he reminded me of Sideswipe and Sunstreaker. I don't really recall too much about Smallfoot. I could not stand Scooter. Cy-Kill was okay, Crasher always made me laugh, for some reason.

If this ends up being a straight to dvd movie, I'd be good with that.

I grew up with armada and even I would have to agree with you. Before I even knew what most of the g1 toys looked like, I had a big box of my older brother's old toys. In said box were transformers, several gobots, and some bits of Dino riders. Dino riders not withstanding, I had no way of differentiating the gobots from the transformers as my only reference point was a pair of g1 tapes with two shows each and a copy of the '86 movie. Therefore, jeeper kreeper became my hound, stacks became my Optimus prime (I had a one armed megatron but no Optimus), wrong way became my vortex, zero became my pre-space shuttle blast off (I was crazy about the combaticons but I only actually had brawl), and the others became generic background characters (I have a couple more on that list). In regards to g1 my collection was a mixture of gobots and transformers until I got the collector's price guide in 2004, I was 7 at the time.

I'd love new Classic-styled Leader-1, Cy-Kill, Turbo, Cop-Tur, Crasher, Scooter, Sparky, Fitor, Pathfinder, Treds, Bugbite, Road Ranger, Bad Boy and Smallfoot...but I have a feeling it'll be G2 Gobots...which would be cool as well...

I'm kind of thinking about it like this: how many of us adults own Rescue Bot toys? Unless we have kids, probably hardly any of us. We have no interest in that corner of the franchise. But if Hasbro replaced Rescue Bots with Go-Bots, suddenly there's a recognition and a nostalgia there with the adult fans. They could make simplified-transformation-style Go-Bot toys, somewhere around the current RID-level complexity, and maybe grab sales from both kids and adults, whereas right now Rescue Bots is only targeting kids.

Also, since they're just now getting the trademarks in place, it'll probably be at least another year before we start seeing any product. This may not replace Rescue Bots after all. This may replace RID. That way they have three major product lines: Rescue Bots for the preschool age kids, Go-Bots for the 8-12-year-olds, and Transformers for everyone older.

Although this interesting, i seriously cannot see them resurrecting Go-Bots the way it was back in the 80s. The Go-Bots were direct competitors to Transformers. In the cartoon they were both big robot and humans shows. Now the toys were clearly different since Go-Bots (& Machine Rescue Robo) had most of the Go-bots in simple small sized format which made for great collectability,

I have no idea where this is going since they cannot do direct likenesses. But maybe things like how close Whirl and Roadbuster or even the Classics Jetfires have gotten may have changed this. Not to speak of unofficial third parties.

Maybe the entire world is slowly morphing into Chinas idea of intellectual property.

Either way. The Gobots/Machine Robo toys where not bad. Plex just has a their own approaches to design.
