Huh. Well, I didn't see that coming. I wonder if it'll take influence from the original Gobots, or be like this? Transformers: Go-Bots (franchise) - Transformers Wiki

Oh, I really hope not. With how Hasbro has been trying to make everything new kiddy, and everything collector based old, that would mean TF would spend the next several years doing nothing but attempting to redo G1. We only just moved past that, I don't want it to regress back into that.

I could see this being an animated movie sort of deal that's tongue-in-cheek about the whole "Transformers but not" thing.

    This sounds great! Go-Bots returns!

Me, I'm hoping this will be some sort of spin-off from the Bayformers or RID universe.

This is certainly a surprise. I'm curious if the Go-Bots movie will have similar elements of the TF movies or something different altogether?

Never a Go-Bots fan; sounds optimistic.
Lets see what comes of it.

All I would really care for is a few Go-Bots sprinkled into the classic-verse.

Definitely Rescue Bots simple, whether it would extend as far as RID simple, I don't know. Maybe.

Not necessarily. Go-Bots would become the introductory line aimed at kids, Transformers would become the sophisticated collector line aimed at adults. It wouldn't be limited to G1, it would more be that the toys would have a minimum level of complexity.

    Hooray! :D

So are we in the clear with the Bandai TM/copyright of the toys? Cause it seems like the new toys would have to be distinctively different in order to avoid possible liability, the original problem with reviving Gobots. :/

Seems like Hasbro's new attitude is, "F%ck it. Throw dem darts! :D " Cause they're just spamming movies, and me thinks this will amount to some cheaply produced garbage (i.e. 80s/90s Marvel movies).

Gobots should have been usurped into the transformers line years ago. Or Rescue bots should have been titled Go-Bots.

I wonder if it’s going to be this:
    or this
    [IMG]

... I seriously doubt that. TransFormers is already an established kids brand. I can see this being like the Pixar answer to TransFormers to appeal to little kids...
Michael Bay wasn’t lying... he WONT be directing TF5... he’ll be directing Go-Bots :ev:

Didn't Hasbro do this several years ago? *quick search later* Yep, the line went from 2002-2004. Subsequently I am expecting it to be the replacement to Rescue Bots.
