I shall reserve hold off on my opinion until I see what the exclusives are. I know people give grief for the current SDCC exclusives, but lets remember that Nemesis Prime was an exclusive from SDCC, and he was badass.

interested in the fan club but need details before I get too excited. Hascon not so much, but i hope if they do plan it to move around that they go to more cities more regularly than Botcon did especially towards the end of it. That said we have no indication if they plan to move to a new location annually or keep it in Rhode Island.

Honestly there are still a ton of unanswered questions to be answered.

    This is also true.

I also thought that Inhumanoids was a show before it's time as well.

I was able to sign up...I fully expect any exclusives to be VERY similar to what we get from Hasbrotoyshop for SDCC...because the email sign up link appears to be part of Hasbrotoyshop (rather than Hasbro corporate). Makes me think Hasbrotoyshop is running both the new con and club

Tentatively interested (and I did sign up). I expect the exclusives will be a little less random than FunPub's (a few of the characters are crazy obscure) which can be both good and bad (I don't think Hasbro will ever do something like Oilmaster, for example). I do hope they attempt a few more options for exclusive releases - single release or "buy all six" were the only real options from FP. I'd love to see (where appropriate) two packs, three packs, whatever.

The one thing I do expect will happen, though, is we'll see more of the unreleased toolings for figures through the new club. For example, the BW Megatron head on FOC Grimlock would have seen the light of day through the Hasbro club. Whether or not this encourages the designers to plan more tooling options during development (which, I guess, would be for whatever is after the Prime Trilogy) remains to be seen.

Probably because it's not a Hasbro master license and has its own club and convention already. Betting the contract is only for Hasbro internal IP's...so no Star Wars, Marvel or Disney lines

Is Hasbro gonna be looking for "local" volunteers?

Well, I look forward to seeing what they do with it. I was never a big fan of FunPub anyway, so I'm optimistic. I guess we won't see a lot of 3P stuff, though.

If the Con is going to be at the convention center in Providence, there will be plenty of space for vendors to have 3rd parties. A Hotel, a Sheraton if I recall, is directly connected to the center via a raised land bridge. Plus its right next to the largest mall east of the Mississippi.

+1 -- "We're sorry, but you are not eligible to sign up at this time."

Also :lol  at "*The photos featured on this page are not representative of fans or talent that will be attending HasCon 2017" just in case someone attends and gets mad that "Cullen and Welker were on the website photo, why aren't they here?!"

on the subject of exclusives: I hope Hascon's exclusives are more similar to Funpub style exclusive where we get unique homage characters vs the SDCC style "better paint job and fancy box" versions of characters we already get at retail.
also, with it being an all Brands Hasbro event, i assume there will be much fewer Transformer exclusives to make room for all of the Nerf, MLP, and Play Doh exclusives.

I can see so many things going wrong with this event.
1: Transformers fandom, being salty about no longer having their own con, taking out their frustrations on other con-goers
2: the Magic the Gathering element will most likely entail a Tournament of some sort, which will most likely bring out the uber competitive/toxic atmosphere that any TCG tournament brings out.
    3: Bronies, ugh
4: Hasbro is touting this as a "fan and family event" so combining the previous three complaints with people bringing their children along will most likely escalate things further.

I kinda wanna go, just to see this flaming Train wreck with my own eyes.

No mention in the release, but one of the four fan pictures on the Hascon page is a girl with a lightsaber, so I assume their licensed products will have some presence, even if they don't get the 4-star treatment of their house lines.

After speaking with Hasbro at BOTCON this past year. Hasbro will probably just show case all their products from present into the future. They mentioned that they are done with a normal convention settings which seems to not include a dealers room as they wanted to focus on entertainment. Their big push at Hasbro is stating that they are no longer a toy company but an entertainment company. You will probably only have a HasbroToyShop selling there products which will be the exclusives sold at the convention. I think it will be like CyberCon in Asia which was more on showcasing their products. Well see what happens.

    No.

    No mixing Transformers and ponies.

    Just no!

    Sentinel Prime, keep Transformers pure.

The dealer room is why I went to conventions, take that away, you take away me and a lot of other people.
