Because Hasbro owns "Transformers." It's a quirk of legal distinction that, in order to maintain validity that Hasbro's claim is to "Transformers" as a noun and element of their brand, they can't use the word "transform" in any other context. This is so it doesn't appear that the word "Transformers" alludes to anything but the brand.

Other companies with no claim to the word "Transformers" can thus freely use transform as a verb without the need for legal distinction.

It's even more nuanced than that. Hasbro seems perfectly happy to use the word "transform" on other toys. Just not on Transformers, themselves.

OMG I just thought about this again, and guess what crossed my mind. Transformers themed HW tracks!!!!! There could be one for velocitron, a ramp style track similar to the Mariokart Rainbow Road/Super 6 Lane Raceway, a Cybertron/Unicorn inspired one like the Spin storm trackset or the fireball track from back in 2001, an Autobot City themed set like the 5 lane tower starter set, with the little plane launcher that fits over the orange strips of track launching a tiny Ark and maybe another one that launches the Nemesis. I could even see the diecast cars being incorporated into the new racerverse toyline, with a similar track having a layout like the Transformers Speed Stars trackset with megatron in it. I could also see them doing an Optimus Prime's trailer/battle station like garage with a small Roller like elevator that could even be battery powered, and a bunch of tiny arms like on the Super Ultimate Garage with the gorilla on it. I can also picture a hauler similar to ther one pictured below done up in Optimus Prime fashion! Man, I'm so pumped for this colaboration!!!

    My top wants are probably:

Barbie as an Autobot from Tracks.
    MOTU Roton from Velocitron Cosmos.
MOTU Filmation Attak Trak from SS86 Ironhide.

Power Rangers Mattel characters, each in a difficult color. Barbie is pretty obviously pink and He-Man is red and I think Bravestarr would be awesome as yellow.

MOTU Origins figures of various Hasbro properties. I think, like Power Rangers, I'd prefer a mixed assortment of ROM, one of the Visionaries, Baron Karza (the horse gimmick works with Origins parts swapping), Destro -- just a mix.

If they actually adapted the designs to be barbarians, it would be interesting to see what characters could translate largely based on color schemes. Destro, Baroness, Cobra Commander, Duke, Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, Gung-Ho, Bazooka. A MOTU Gung-Ho with a teal furry loincloth and a chest tattoo would be awesome. General Hawk could work on the tech-y side of MOTU if you use his jetpack look.

Maybe one Transformer in there. I mean, probably the dream there would be vehicles but I actually think taking a full scale Battle Cat and Panthor in a Beast Wars direction would rock. Tigatron and Ravage? I think if we're looking at something to go with Origins figures, vehicles would end up about as wonky as the Joe crossovers.

But Screech, Zoar, Battlecat, Panthor, Tyrantisaurus, Turbodactyl, Bionatops, Spydor, Mantisaur, Stridor, and Nightstalker could all be compelling beastformers.

Gygor or a Shadow Beast from Optimus Primal would also rock.

Actually, a whole offshoot of Beast Wars set on Eternia would rock pretty hard.

And maybe Roboto and Blast Attak get Autobot and Decepticon sparks installed.

Man I had one of Bumblebee back in the day, I loved that thing. Shame I lost track of it. I wonder if anything will be different about this Hotwheels ones? Or if they’ll basically be a continuation/spiritual successor of the RPM series (I believe that’s what they were called)

The Lockdown and Bumblebee were packed in with the DOTM game for the Nintendo DS which I finished in just 1 week. I played way more hours of the first 2 games for the DS than I did the DOTM tie-in.

I hope Wheeljack is in the first wave. I know Mattel already has a mold for the Lancia Stratos.

I never care much for these branded products because they use the same key art over and over that I just get tired of seeing. I had a poster with this same Dreamwave art 15 years ago. I have had my lifetime fill of this puffy Megatron in a weird pose.

The fact that they pasted over Uno Flip and didn't make the flipside their alt-modes is an absolute travesty.
There are a lot of Uno spinoff games. In Flip, there's a flip card, which makes you flip all of your cards and the deck to the flipside, which has more 'difficult' cards (like +5s instead of +2s).
