That was my fault as I was the one who titled the thread. I just thought Predaking would make a formidable opponent of the Megazord in a theoretical (now much more likely) future crossover of Transformers and Power Rangers. I suppose Volcanicus, being composed of the Dinobots would be more appropriate versus the Dinozords :)

Depends on which version of the megazord we're talking about. That particular Megazord in Super Sentai is actually a god. I think a god would cream Predaking...especially if he calls upon his god-buddies, Dragon Caesar and Brachion.

As someone who was 'too old' for Power Rangers I was never as into the fiction as I was the dx toys...which I saw as the closest thing to a continuation of my GoDaiKin collection since so many of them were from Super Sentai anyway. As such I'm not a huge stickler for posability, but I do miss the more 'super robot' proportions. I'm cautiously optimistic about what the future holds. It'd Be nice to get straight reissues of the BOJ pieces rather than importing because BOAs Megazords were such garbage...

Since Hasbro ended most of the other brand 'cons I bet this is the last year for Power Morphicon...

I guess the stream of thinking I'm trying to wrap my head around here is this, "because Hasbro put out Transformers, then the new MMPR stuff should be much better". But Hasbro puts out TF's in partnership with TakaraTomy, who's to say TT is even on board with this at all.

IMHO Hasbro's original TF stuff has been very close to piles of crap in the past. Maybe the current team at Hasbro can do it, they seem to have far better understanding of good design than previous management/staff. But then what happens with TF's if their creative team is switched over to MMPR?

Godaikins are exactly what maintained my interest with Power Rangers mecha through the years, some more than others. I agree that I miss the 70's/80's Super Robot styling...I feel the closest we've had in recent years has been ToQger, of which we missed out on in the States. ToQoh really does look a bit like he would fit in a Godaikin catalog.

GoBusters (what the next PR series is based on) isn't all too different from that, actually.

So, are they thinking of combining Power Rangers withTransformers like they did with Star Wars and Marvel?   I think that would be a mistake.  They need to keep some toy lines separate.   To me, it dilutes each toy line.

This was literally announced yesterday ...

In February, Hasbro announced that they had purchased the toy license to Power Rangers, with the option of buying the franchise later. This is them saying that they are in fact buying the franchise.

People are expecting TF engineering with PR toys. Let’s not forget that Hasbro toys without TT’s assistance aren’t usually nearly as good as when they work together. Look at Energon Grimlock and Swoop as an example.

Yeah, but that was almost 15 years ago under a very different design team, do we have any modern examples of Hasbro only designed Transformers?
