I think it's safe to say we will not be getting any Transformers films through 2022 at this rate.

    Good.

Don't feel bad. You can watch or read one of the dozens of other GI Joe media productions portraying the same Snake Eyes vs Storm Shadow conflict over and over again with barely any difference in content.

Ye. Give’s em more time to come up with something good. I’d hate to have another rushed movie.

Yup, it's pretty much the break we've been asking for. Perfect time to create a solid plan for the reboot timeline assuming Paramount is smarter this time around.

Yeah, there was no real momentum on getting another TF movie made even before COVID-19, so I'm not holding my breath waiting.
I don't even think it's a quality issue at this point, so much as a financial one. Paramount just told Scorsese of all people to take a hike after he tried to toss a $200M DiCaprio vehicle at them, so even if Paramount survives I'm pretty sure the days of giant-^$$ globe-trotting Michael Bay action for this franchise are over for the time being. Basically, get used to fewer robots with simpler designs no matter what they look like, and smaller locations with according stakes.

Tell me, how is it that you know the quality of a movie that you have yet to see?

I would not hold my breath for a lot of these films, like the Beast Wars movie. Stuff gets floated in the business all the time. Ideas are easy - funding and execution are hard. I'm not saying you'll never get the Beast Wars movie, just it could be a long, long wait. Hell, I remember first hearing about an Ant-Man movie in 1990. So many stars have to align just the right way.

The director, whose last three action films (RIPD, the last two Divergent films) were all negatively received, has made this some kind of Japanese samurai-esque action film, starring Henry Golding who has absolutely no experience doing action films given the biggest thing he's starred in was Crazy Rich Asians.

Also, Lorenzo di Bonaventura is involved as a producer. That right there is more than enough proof to question the end product.

So just conjecture? I really wish people would stop posting their opinions and hyperbole as fact.

Good, may they delay the movies until they actually found some good ideas.

Hasbro wasn't as hands on with the Snake Eyes movie compared to the Bumblebee movie. Ever since Hasbro took more creative control with the Bumblebee movie, the same was expected of them with the Snake Eyes movie. However the Snake Eyes movie is still a largely Paramount-led effort. It's a reboot for GI Joe movies but not the shift in creative control that you may have wanted. Hasbro may want it to be a return to form like Bumblebee but it's not. The main difference is having a largely different Paramount team working on it compared to Rise of Cobra/Retaliation.

I was just thinking the exact same thing the other day. Seems like we’ll most likely get a Transformers film(possibly the Bumblebee sequel) somewhere around 2023 at the earliest. Which is fine, cause I think they need to take their time with this franchise now

Taking their time is the best thing they can do and something I hope for in the future. It's commendable that the initial movie story ran for 5 movies long but the way it ended made saturation stick out and Bumblebee was a refreshing departure. If they take their time and it can lead to more fruitful results.

And hopefully toy design only starts when the movie designs are completely finished!

Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins my guestimation to this movie will be somewhere along the lines of X-Men Origins Wolverine.

Lots of cameos, no substance, a shittypool, and a video game that was actually better than the movie.

Maybe a Snake-Eyes game might be awesome.

    "Paramount...smarter"?!?

    Good one.

Well, you're gonna. I hate to say it, but that doesn't have much of a chance of ever being made. And IF it does get made, you wouldn't recognize it as 'Beast Wars'.
