Grimlock will be voiced by David Kaye who did a SNL Phil Hartman Frankenstien-y voice as an example. He's also doing a new guy named Lugnut.

Corey Burton, besides doing Megatron & Shockwave is doing Ratchet too.

Blurr will be reprised by John Moshita, from G1.

They already wrapped up two seasons, 29 total episodes, with the 90 minute special (basically a 3 episode pilot movie like the original G1 pilot).

It's traditional voice over work, where they are all together for the recording, not like anime dubs where each actor only has their lines to record.



I know the press release sounds kiddy, but with this many G1 voice actors and characters, if the plot is semi decent I might enjoy this series.

*UPDATE* Kaye said that most of the characters outside the core cast (Prime, Bulkhead, Bee, Prowl, Ratchet) will be single-episode cameo appearances. He also strongly hinted that Waspinator might make an appearance, though if he does, unfortunately Scott McNeil will not be available to return.

 

Deffinatly. There is some real talent here that reashures me these characters won't be anime ripoff ******s.

However that is a fairly nice cast.

This kind of excites me. They could have had anybody do those voices, but if they went to the trouble to get the original voice actors together maybe the designs will also reflect their G1 roots.

 

Well everybody can agree the voice acting doesn't suck in the slightest. Grade A talent all around.

 

Stellar voice list. Plus confirmation that Magnus is still in it! And Jazz is there!

Oh yeah, I'll jump on the bandwagon, too.

I was really pleased to find out that all the VA's will be in the same room together. It seems the final product of shows done this way tend to be better in terms of the dialog

That has definetly made my attitude towards the show at a definate positive, lol. How reliable is that list? because I really hope that Shockwave is in this new show, no matter who he is voiced by, lol.

 

I had some reservations about the show because I'm not a huge fan of the animation style in general. I didn't really care for it in Samurai Jack, Teen Titans, OR Clone Wars.

But it could look like crayon drawings on lined paper for all I care, I think the cast is fantastic.

I was at the panel earlier today. The list is very reliable, as it all came from David Kaye.

 

Sweet. I can't wait to see the toy that they come up for Shockwave. He's now on my list, and I've never even seen a picture of him, lol.

I've seen Weird Al in concert and he puts on a GREAT show...

I like the voices picked. Now if Peter Cullen could only voice Prime I would consider watching it..

I like that animation style in the right project. I'm not sure TFs is the right project, though.

I actually like the basic concept, but I hope we do get more Decepticons than what it currently seems like. I never did care much for the "Decepticons/Cobra/Skeletor" is responsible for every bad thing that ever happens storytelling of most toy 'toons. That doesn't mean I want my 'cons completely on the back burner.

Anyway back to the main point...

Yeah, this sounds like a great cast. Can't wait to see/hear more.
