There's naked self-interest at work here - I was urgently hoping for the RID seeker to be released in Thundercracker colours, and the increasing likelihood that RID toys have reached the end of their run worries me greatly. From the outside, it seems premature to cease the production of new RID toys, as there's plenty of warrior-class moulds that have only been used once - Blurr, Twinferno, Soundwave etc. But on the other hand, there's been no hint of anything new on the RID front for a while now. And with Cyberverse already being touted about as the cartoon replacement... I'm concerned.
I think with the show coming to an end the likelihood of the toyline being done after the bludgeon wave is high. It might be too soon to give up hope on thundercracker since takara might still make one. Might cost a little more but it'll round out the three
Hasbro confirmed that what we know of is it. So the only thing I can recall that hasn’t seen a release in any single market is the Optimus+Grimlock Crash Combiner. The Bludgeon wave of Warriors is the last too for anyone wondering. Shame we didn’t get Thundercracker, but I can’t say I’ll miss RID or it’s figures.
Id make my first RID purchase if I get some confirmation of a Thundercracker however it seems unlikely. Never was a fan of the show unfortunately.
Literally had interest for having standin mavericks... and all of 4 warrior class Decepticons actually got made such that i can have an army of hedgehog SUVs and lobster lowriders... and a wolfman that cant stand. Unless Im forgetting a mold here or there.
Yeah... possible, but I've developed a bit of caution when it comes to Takara seekers. They've lumped Skywarp and T-Cracks together a few times (which I don't want) and have an annoying tendency to use a yucky pale blue on him (which I equally don't want). Man, I'm unpleasable. When exactly did they confirm it? Do you have any links?
who knows maybe they will somehow repack them under Cyberverse. I mean some Beast Machines figures got repurposed as RID2001 figures
A nice thought, but how the Cyberverse toyline is going to appear is anyone's guess. Me, I was otherwise hoping for a return to the Cyberverse sizes from the Prime era, as I missed out on that stuff completely. So now I'm torn between a desire for cute little minibots and a desire for a Thundercracks.
Well, there's still that Sabrehorn/Bisk crash combiner that was shown at SDCC that MIGHT come out for whatever good a Crash Combiner would do you
I can only hope. Kill it all with fire and give the shelf space to something new. Not that the next series of figures will be any less cheap.
well kinda sucks i never did find any of the lobster bots in the wild, well my local area hasnt past the soundwave wave yet so still hope for a lobster mobster lol. The only thing i like about this RID is the fact we got some awesomely unique decepticons
i wouldn't be against hasbro doing another universe type series where they repaint and rerelease some figures. could be a way to work in some of those botcon concepts like cybertron override or action master sprocket and skyfall as titan masters. they could finally release that fugitive wasp from the animated line. there's where they could dump rid2015 thundercracker. maybe that remold of the voyager foc grimlock into rid2015 grimlock but with the g1 colors like that deluxe figure had. that way they could get out figures with different looks under the same multiverse type banner. but with the continued potp, cyberverse, and movie lines a fourth repaint/retool line would be pushing it.
I’m not a fan of the recent mainline Seeker designs. With their fat limbs and comically long blasters, they just look to chunky. Almost constipated. On the other hand, I’m one of the few people who loves - LOVES - the RID Seeker mold. I like how they look both menacing and lithe. They just look fast, both in robot and plane mode. And that’s why I’d kill for a Thundercracker version. I’d pay an embarrassing amount of money for it.
And here I'm looking for a Thermidor to go with my Bisk, I had just assumed that Thundercracker had been announced. Hopefully the Blue Lobster makes it to America.
Thundercracker often gets the shaft - I'm still waiting for my Cybertron Legends-class Thundercracker. Hopefully they'll release it as an exclusive for you!
