    Im just trying to get the actual low down on
    Ironhide??

    I know what has been said in the novel but i dont want to believe it, i want to believe the movie will be different

    Yes. Because the DOTM Novel and Movie are a separate continuity.

    I know how you feel, in the movie I personally hope that
    Sentinel goes up to Ironhide and is just about to shoot when Ironhide says "You feelin lucky punk?" And knocks him flat on his ass. XD

    That would be so friggin awesome, and then
    Sentinel Prime kicks Ironhide down and puts his gun up against his head and says "Such heroic nonsense" and shoots Ironhide.

    In a way, if Ironhide
    does have to go down, I like the idea of him dying to a cowardly sneak attack from a supposedly friendly than ever being taken down by a legitimate foe.

    Although I was also okay with Ironhide dying if he took out a legion of Decpticons first (think Prime in the 86 movie).

    Pretty sure it'll go down like the novel (screenplay) , since the word 'mercyless' has been thown around alot. This particular scene describes it well.
