I know this is a place for fanfiction and what I have written is fanfic, but I was wondering if anyone has actually pitched anything they have wrote to a company that does media?

I have a thing worked out. 25 separate 12-issue limited series that tell a flowing concurrent origin that culminates in a single annual and then starts anew with an ongoing series.

I have written out character bios for every character, major and minor, as well as designs, some of which are a departure from their normal look(e.g. yellow taking the place of red for Optimus, Hot Rod having Nova Primes IDW scheme, Ratchet having the light green scheme from DotM, etc.).

I want to pitch it as an alternate story to the current series and focus on more bads than just Megatron.

Is this feasible or am I just wasting my time?

 

Yeah...you're wasting your time. IDW wouldn't even be the route to go anyway. They do not own Transformers. Hasbro does and your idea takes the characters too far out their normal range. It'd probably work as a fanfic but . . . that's about it. And frankly... Optimus just doesn't look good in yellow.

 

I mean, it'd probably work fine for it's own separate universe or potential reboot of the series, but I can already tell that some decisions are going to be very unpopular. Like Optimus being yellow instead of red, and Hot Rod/Rodimus being like IDW Nova. Those are best left in the realm of fan fiction.

 

Optimus would not have yellow as a dominant color. Predominantly blue with yellow accents.

Also Hot Rod wouldn't have Nova Primes personality, just his color sheme.

 

Still, it’s going to rub some people the wrong way. Some people still can’t bring themselves to watch Animated because of the characters’ proportions.
