This program that is shown on TruTV, I guess it is about the rough side of the pawn business.

I don't know if this show is fake like Repo-men, Southern Fried Sting and All Worked Up, but this store in Detroit looks bigger than Pawn Stars in Vegas.

I watched it last night. I like it... they are much more "if you don't like it then, fuck off" than Pawnstars is. But then again they are in Detroit, which is one of the most crime ridden cities in the US. I'm just waiting for the inevitable shoot-out that is going to occur since the owner and all the security guards are armed. Not that I blame them, if I was living in Detroit I'd have a concealed carry permit too.

They seem to be much more of your typical pawn shop, at least to me. Only Hardcore is on a much, much larger scale... they seem to be bigger than the Pawnstars.

Pawn Stars focuses on high-end, historically neat-o stuff and is lighter fare.

Hardcore Pawn is only grittier because it likes to focus upon the every day tragedy of being broke and having to sell yo momma's chastity belt to pay the rent.

the only thing these shows have in common is that they both stress the need to be able to sell something for 1000% markup, lol.

i saw the show and appreciate it like I do Operation Repo, which is trailer trash junk food entertainment.
on Hardcore Pawn, dude works near 8 Mile- didn't ya see that movie where even the skanks look like Kim Basinger, all can rap like Eminem, and you will get mugged on days ending with a "y"?

    this just hollers "fun." lol.

    Eh, I prefer Pawn Stars, I mean both shows are onat the same time and lets just make a comparison here;

-Slum ridden pawn shop vs CHUMLEE

I think my decision is made.

HP has big dudes for security. I was suprised when that guy pawned his 2007 Dodge Charger for $5,000.

Saw that one too. I was thinking if Mr. Gold did not take that deal it was definitely fake. That was a steal, I am betting that guy got the money back to them way before the due date. Overall I like it but it is all about ghetto drama. Trust me, I see it everyday and it's nice to see it happen and not have to do anything about it. BUT I DO MISS Chumlee...... Pawn Stars rules...
Although, a side story about the security guard biting an employee is CLASSIC!!!!! Hey, a little booty biting is just harmless fun as long as he doesn't break the skin.

I think that's the reason why they do keep him around. He practically makes the show.

Yeah if Rick and the old man get rid of Chumlee, the ratings might drop.

Hardcore Pawn makes Pawn Stars look like Antiques Roadshow.

I've only seen ads for HP, but it seems like one of those shows you watch for the same reason you watch Wolds Dumbest...; Just to see stupid/crazy people.
At least with Pawn Stars you might learn something.

My only real problem with it is the way they make it seem like Detroit is the worst city ever, of course who doesn't say that? It's really not that bad at all, they treat us like the "Twilight" of the country. We're always gonna be terrible no matter what. Plus the drama/"ghetto" aspect has turned me off to it. That and the cast of the show, theres not as much "life" in it like Pawn Stars. Also it's like their trying to prove how tough they are and whatever cause their in Detroit.

Guess it's kinda Meh for me.
