Figured I'd bump this because: Jazwares Halo Master Chief 20th Anniversary Spartan Collection 2-Pack That Infinite Chief looks excellent, if the final thing actually looks that good it'll probably be the best one they've made thus far.
I'm not crazy about Combat Evolved Chief, something looks off about it like it's really clunky but maybe better pictures will do it justice. That Infinite repaint however looks amazing. I'll probably get this set just for that. I love that deeper green.
I've been gradually accumulating this line, mostly the Covenant, but I recently picked up the Jackal and Spartan Mark VB/Jega 'Rdomnai two-pack. Jega is fucking badass. He looks so cool, and the only downside is the lack of bicep on the prosthetic arm and the limited neck. (he lacks any sort of joint at the "base") The Jackal's cool, too, though the neck is a little strange It lack lateral movement if you keep it oriented with the quills up, but naturally wants to rotate side-to-side, where the quills are to one side. Not the smartest design and I may take the quills off, but I like that he has a movable jaw. The Spartan looks great but is a bit boring. It can barely hold its weapon but thanks to the wrists hinges and soft plastic hands it pulls it off. May give it to Craig and give the discount Mauler to the Spartan. The knees are pretty ugly, though. I almost got the Chief/Chieftan two-pack but I'm hoping with get the Chieftan separate because I don't need multiple Chiefs in the same scale. I also can't wait for the Elite "Mercenary" and I hope Elites get added to the "Spartan Collection." ("Elite Collection" maybe?) Honestly, I really like this line. It's inexpensive, decent quality, and the figures are all functional. It's not McFarlane where many of the toys were literally incapable of holding their weapons and articulation was rendered useless by restrictive sculpts, nor is it Mattel where it was so cheap and shitty you felt ripped off even getting them at discount. It feels like a smaller spiritual successor to the old Joyride figures.
Also pic of wave three of WOH: Not the most flattering shot. They seriously didn't have a better painted Chief than that? Definitely getting the Jackal and Elite, and the Brute is pretty badass, too. I hope we get weapon packs down the road.
Nah, they're like a little above 3-3/4 inch scale. Kind of annoyingly in their own size but relatively that range.
Thanks for the replies guys…drats, kinda disappointed by the small size. If they were 6-7 inch scale, I’ll be all over them.
Yeah it's a bit of a bummer, but it allows for accurate scale and I guess they split costs over a wave, because some of the aliens like are like 2-3 times the size of the humans and Spartans yet are still that $10/$13 range. They're definitely taking advantage of the small scale to deliver the full lineup. Though there is also the Spartan Collection, which is 6-7 inch scale, but it's only Spartans. (they're really good, though) I'm hoping one day they release Covvies at that size, (Elite collection? ) because I'd love some giant, posable Elite figures.
Yeah, I agree with your assessment on how they’re running lines : the smaller scale will give us a better line up. Still I would like to see the villains in 6 - 7 inch. That’s the only thing that’s stopping me from going into the line. Personally for me, I need more than heroes in any of my collection.
Boy do I have some leaks for you fuckers. Looks like now that we are closer to Infinite’s release, the lines will be releasing in earnest. credit to @Voltrace for the leaks.
