Hey pals and peeps, tomorrow is the start of one of our annual autumn traditions. May as well start it up now, so we can sit down with goodies and discuss what movies we'll see.

I'm glad there's a thread for this. Feels weird to talk about watching Pirates of the Caribbean, Scooby-Doo, Hocus Pocus, and The Goonies in a thread about horror even if the middle two are technically horror comedy. Halloween isn't technically all horror.

I'm trying to put together something to watch for October using classic Halloween iconography. Basically, watch movies about the different "symbols" of Halloween you'll see plastered all over the stores:

    Skeletons and pirates
    - Curse of the Black Pearl
    - The Goonies

    Ghosts
    - The Innkeepers
    - The Shining
    - The Frighteners
    - Scooby Doo, Where are You: A Night of Fright is no Delight

I can use suggestions for more ghost movies that stream free on YouTube, on Tubi, Hulu, or Netflix. I've been watching Grave Encounters, The Shining, Hell House LLC, and Scooby as tradition for years now and I need a change up.

    Frankenstein's Monster
    - Frankenstein (1931)
    - Son of Frankenstein

    Vampires
    - Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979)
    - Black Water Vampire
    - Subspecies

Suggestions wanted here too. I always end up watching a bunch of Dracula adaptations. I haven't watched the latter two movies.

    Pumpkins/Scarecrows
    - What's New Scooby-Doo Halloween special

Yep. Can use suggestions here too.

    Werewolves
    - Blackout
    - Wolf Hollow

I always watch Howl and Wolfman and got so disappointed in Bad Moon when I watched it last year. Hopefully these are good additions.

    Spiders
    N/A

    Clowns
    - Haunt
    - It (2017)

    Witches
    - Hocus Pocus
    - Scooby-Doo Show: To Switch a Witch
    - Scooby-Doo Where Are You: Which Witch is Which?
    - Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost

Literally all comedy and stuff I watched before. Can use something else here.

    Spiders
    N/A

    Mummies
    - The Mummy (1932)

    Can use more here too.

    Bats
    - Graveyard Shift

I feel short on stuff a lot this year because I'm not really feeling all the stuff I usually watch for Halloween. Some of these categories only have something in them because I'm kinda just settling and haven't yet watched the movies this year, even though I watched them over and over again.

Started last night with Oddity which was nice and creepy. Watched The Watchers a couple of weeks back and that was surprisingly good imho.
