Disappointing but not unexpected. This year's pretty much a wash anyway. Hopefully, they'll be able to film Halloween Ends safely this Fall if not some time next year.
This puts the movies in perfect parallel with Mission Impossible 7 & 8. Both now come out in Fall 2021 & 2022.
I'm not disappointed it was delayed, I'm disappointed they are delaying it a full year, which means ends won't be until Oct 2022.
Like the current situation in the world will be better by then. It won't. Movie studios need to face reality, cut their losses and release these movies on streaming services and blur ray/4K.
Yeah, but at this point, they could close theaters for the rest of the year and I wouldn't care since Halloween Kills and Morbius were my top two biggest movies for the year.
I’m kinda excited for a Predator-style scene of Michael Myers taking people out. Slasher movies usually stick to the killer taking on one or two people at a time. The only exception off the top of my head that I can think of is “The Burning“ with the infamous canoe massacre scene. That reminds me of this funny article from a few years ago. Illinois Town Lifts 15-Year Ban On Halloween
Other exceptions include the swimming pool party in Nightmare on Elm Street 2 when Freddy enters the real world, and the cornfield kegger in Freddy vs. Jason, where Jason slaughters a couple dozen drunk high school students.
Jason X also has an entire space colony blow up tthanks to Jason killing the ship pilot. I can actually see Freddy and Michael watching that and saying to Jason, "That only counts as one."
Don’t forget- Elm Street 3 had a small group of kids take Freddy on at the same time (with 2 others going after his remains in the real world to make it a 2-pronged attack). They wrecked him good. I know it wasn’t a big slaughter, but it is another instance showing him taking on a crowd.
I wonder if the actors that played as Marion Chambers and Sheriff Bracket would even still be alive by the time the filmmakers are finished with the Halloween Ends movie's production.
That's assuming the characters are even alive by the end of Kills to appear in Ends. Though, I believe they were filming both movies back to back.
John Carpenter Says a Streaming Premiere for Halloween Kills is Possible "Sure, Halloween may be shared that way because theatres are dead," Carpenter told NME. "It’s just the reality right now," he added. "And it’s a tragedy, but it’s true. We just have to face it. The studio did contact David and I, and they had us put off [Halloween Kills' release date] by a year in the hope that things got better. So we’re still hoping it will get better."
