I don't understand what the HELL is with ornament prices. Those special Hallmark ones like the G1 Optimus I can at least kinda get, but when I could go to the toy aisle and buy a real, full-fledged toy, and slap a hook on it for near or at the same price, what the hell is the point of these?

That's Optimus Prime from the lesser-known knockoff of Dark Awakening, "Dork Awakening".

Aww, you beat me to it! The resemblance is close enough that I might actually buy one if I saw it.

Also, sadness that this isn't a reissue of the good Hallmark Prime decoration, it's the only one of the four that I don't have yet. :banghead:

A fantastic find! Thanks. I'm going to look for it.

Bear in mind that these Hallmark releases are NOT as high quality compared to the Hallmark Keepsake ornaments you'll find in Hallmark stores. The G1 Prime from a few years back is excellent in quality and sculpt, and blows this one away. that said, this Target release is based on the cartoon design, whereas the Keepsake Hallmark ones are based on the toy box art. They are more pricey, but I find them to be worth it as I have Prime, Megatron, Gridlock, and this year's release of Soundwave. All excellent. But this little $8 is cool, too. Just have to find one with decent sculpt and paint apps. :)

Is this anywhere close in size to those ornaments that are based on the G1 toys? I only have the Megatron. If this scales the same, I might buy it to go with Megatron.

They got it close if this screen shot was their reference. Who knows what they were using for source material. I'm still going to keep an eye out for it and hope for a better paint job.

They might've been better off not painting it at all and make it a "holiday activity" ornament. "Paint your Prime!!"

Thanks! I tried searching! I'm going to check it out. I like the paint job in that picture. Mine has it "in theory" so going to check it out... edit - They're still putting Halloween stuff away and Christmas stuff out - will check later.
